How do you react when a guy approaches you?

If a guy approaches you in a library or at the gym for example, and tries to make conversation with you, asking you about a book or something along those lines, anything to get talking to you.

Do you see what they are trying to do, and join in with the conversation, or do you just shrug them off, or does it depend on whether you find them attractive, or is it something else?

I am usually flattered and appreciative when I am approached. If I'm interested, I will flirt and if I'm not, I will politely chat for a little bit and hint my disinterest or tell him if I need to. The only time I would not be nice about it is if he said/ did something immature or perverted.

I'm a rather shy girl. If a guy approaches me and I feel uncomfortable or am surprised for some reason I might try to run away or get out of the conversation. This doesn't however mean I'm not interested. I think it's just the shyness that causes it to happen.

Depends on where I am at and the time of day it is. Guys have tried to talk to me when I walking through the streets or early in the morning and sometimes I jus ignore them or let them know I'm not interested...but I am always polite...i don't jus ignore or act rude. but any other time I just talk to them and play along with it and if they are cute its always a plus

I'm usually pretty shy around people I don't know, so I probably wouldn't be extremely talkative, but I would still try to be polite. If a guy approaches me like that, I know that they don't just feel like talking to me for the heck of it lol.

I have a crush on this guy for 4 years now, finally I knew his name and his birthday from a source, my sis helped me chat him up and asked for his number, the way he talked to my sis (kindly) I thought he liked her and then I was like no more hope on this one. So just yesterday he asked for my number, as I am, I acted all difficult and such but girl I was going soft inside. I don't know! any advice

I'd definetely think he must find me attractive. I would definetely join in the convo, and if I found him very hot, I'd be pretty nervouse probably.
