Why do people call from a restricted number?

I've been involved with a guy for a few weeks now. I was working on a project today that he wanted to be able to tell me how to do it and to keep instructing me through it (we live kind of far apart). So we spoke several times on the phone. He called once when I was at my neighbors house so I sent the phone to voice mail. I tried calling him back and got the beep that he was on the other line. Next thing I know he called me from a blocked number (which normally it isn't). What the heck...why do you guys do that?

There are a lot of ways a number can come up as Restricted. Why would you assume it's something he's intentionally doing? How do you know he's calling you from a number that "normally isn't restricted"?

I know because his number always comes up with the number displayed, but immediately after it showed as restricted. It never has before.

If he uses VOIP it can come up as anything really. It all depends on how he was calling you. Maybe he thought you were screening his calls so he turned on caller id blocking.

im guessing that since you pretty much ignored the first call

he thought that you would pick up if you didn't recognize the number

people have their reasons...you may just think something is up, because you are not aware of certain circumstances that this guy may be under.

i have my number restricted because I don't like people having my number. then again I used to do drugs and blocking my number kept me from being hassled by the dealers
