I use the word gorgeous on guys and they've asked me " isn't that a girly word?"
It depends on the girl (and could be different to her) but have you ever seen a girl and just admired her and thought "wow she's beautiful"
When I see a guy I find just incredibly handsome (like the guy version of beautiful) I say gorgeous because words like cute or hot don't seen to be able to describe it.
I hope that helps give you an idea. It doesn't mean any less manly if anything take it as a great compliment
