listen hun, you may see curvy as more of an insult than a compliment, and I won't bash you for that, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone thinks differently, but do understand that when they say that I'm sure THEY mean it as a compliment, and I think you know that as well, its just that because you don't like it personally and find it as a compliment, you believe it to be rude. There is no reason to be worked up over it though, unless someone says something to purposefully be rude to you, you should just let it go, or kindly tell people thanks but that is more of an insult to me. Now, at this point, anyone who said it to compliment you sincerely will apologize and go about their business. However, if someone said it with sexual intent, they will be more offended than anything and at this point you can go ahead and fight them because fuck him for having a mind clouded with sex all the time.

In the last few years, it has become the so-called “polite” thing to call a fat person “curvy” so as to appear less harsh/make them feel sexier and more desired/appear to be accepting of anything other than a size 0.
And while politeness, skirting the issue, and trying to find a way to accept such a body shape is no bad thing, we need to stop lumping (excuse the pun)

Sir, I disagree with you. The main problem is that overweighted and really fat girls have began to use that excuse to call themselves "curvy " in spite of admitting they are just fat and should start a diet. So now most people think it is the polite way to tell a girl she is fat lol.

But your point that it's not OK to just give a random stranger a compliment about his/her body is absolutely valid but unfortunately I think it's quite common. I know that my ex used to talk about the same thing happening quite often.
depends on your definition of curvy. some people seem to think being fat or have a big butt or breasts is curvy
to me the definition of cuvry is the classic hourglass (hip to waist ratio) definition. and by that definition a skinny girl can be curvy so calling someone curvy is NEVER a synonym for you are fat

I acknowledge posting about this before. It is a problem in my life and last I checked I can post about what I want. I know how I feel when guys call me curvy but I'm trying to understand the male thought process behind this crap. If you have nothing constructive to add, why bother?
The thought process is that they are paying you a compliment. Generally speaking, people like receiving them and it's a positive thing, but in this case, with curvy having been hijacked by overweight girls, it doesn't seem to be a good thing.
Exactly. It's not a compliment. I don't mind strangers telling me that I'm pretty or hot, whatever but to make specific comments about someone's body is wrong. I would never go up to an obese person & say "Wow! Look at all that fat!". Same difference!!
I feel a little uncomfortable getting comments like that too, unless it's from someone I know, so I can understand the feeling. Just be aware that it's generally considered socially acceptable to pay people compliments, so going off on one if they do won't paint you in the best light. You might not enjoy it but unless they are being seriously rude it's better to accept it in the same manner it was intended.
Well, they definitely aren't calling you a cow. No, they probably shouldn't comment at all but they aren't insulting you intentionally. They like the way you look. Just accept this and tell them to pass off. The comments aren't necessary, but neither is hatred towards them for saying it.
the thing is, most of us guys dont know how to properly pay compliments to a lady. we will try to be respectful but in this society it's difficult with all of these movements. things like "real women have curves" and stuff like that mess with is and so the way i see it is, yes we would see it as a compliment. a lot of times no matter what we say as compliment comes off as disrespectful and, for tbe most part, mean nothing of it.
I think curvy is a compliment but the media has used it to describe women who are usually just fat. Curvy is the coke bottle shaped women like Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Lopez, scarlet johanson. The curves being referred to being a woman books witch stick out waist with comes in hips and butt which pop out then legs which get slender as they go down if your boobs to hips are shaped like an hourglass then your curvy but some places still prefer a stick figure

My advice to other men has always been NEVER EVER ATTEMPT TO COMPLIMENT A WOMAN !! The vast majority of women are sick of male attention anyway , and do NOT want to be bothered by a random male stranger.
There are girls that carry the same size a different way and be way more sexy and people generally accepted other people judgment.

We see something we find visually pleasing, we will likely comment on it. Simple.
It basically means that a girl has amazing tits and/or ass and being a good size. So basically the girl definitely isn't flat chested or flat assed but I can see how girls can be insaulted. It's kind of vague and besides beauty can be subjective.

They accept curvy as in like what actual curves are which is most of the time a hour glass body type. Its all about the level. I don't feel that I need to lose weight. Curvy is more of a shape. My weight has fluctuated over my life. Even at my smallest, I had the same shape. I don't think curvy exists as it's own thing anymore, it's used as a euphemism for fat now
