Does the saying "I love you like a fat kid loves cake" mean he actually loves you?

A guy I've been hooking up with said to me today that he missed me after not seeing me for 3 days and that he loves me like a fat kid loves cake. If a guy says that he loves you like a fat kid loves cake does it mean he actually loves you but won't just say it or is he just being silly? Guys would you tell a girl this if you didn't actually love her?

Wow why does no one have an opinion on this specific question? I 🤔 when a guy tells you that he loves you like a fat kid loves cake that he is trying to make lite of the situation and make your relationship seem like a joke. I guess it's probably however it makes you feel when he says it to you if your ok with it then whatever and if not then tell what you think about it

My boyfriend I broke up with just texted me this at 1:28 am. Doesn’t make me feel loved, really. He has an addiction to alcohol and he is codependent on me. He will say anything to get what he wants. He’s a sweet talker who when he drinks too much is not so sweet any more.
