He always texts first but then takes ages to reply. What should I do?

I never text him first. But then once he sent me some messages he will leave me with no replies for two or three days and then reply again again.

Does it means he does not care for me? Or maybe I'm not a priority for him?
Can someone please enlighte me?

He did it twice and I was patient but I promised to myself that I won't reply anymore if he does it again. At the same time I really like him and don't want to cut off with him because he worth it, he is a great guy.

Each of you is trying to gague how the other responds. If you want him to respond more, then you should respond more.

Sometimes I will take a long time to respond because I want to say just the right thing and don't want to overload you. Send something that is easy to respond to with a quick comment.

Text him first if you are interested, if he bites it, ignore it for a couple of days, if he text you be more open about this ignoring stuff (ask if he busy or something) and start communicating properly!

He sent me 15 messages to answer our last conversation (he answers with multiple message rather than everything in one) we had two days ago and I did not reply yet.

2 to 4 hours. Sometimes half an hour, it depends actually but never more than 4 hours.

I mean he is not my husband or boyfriend. We are just at an early stage. I just want to know what should I understand. If someone takes ages to reply and then just answer " great" or "ok" i can understand easily and cut off.

But he always texts first. He takes ages to reply but he answer carefully several messages etc. The only thing is that he takes too long whilst he is active on social media. I don't understand this mixed signals
