Why did my crush feel it was necessary to put me down for liking her?

i told her my feelings and got a little emotional. I thought she may have liked me too. seemed possible. she acted like she might, she said she never meant to hurt me but then she feels its right to insult me for pursuing her? it was very hurtful.

its so weird, like was she insecure about something, and if she is, who's to say she doesn't truly feel something and just was afraid to be with me? was she covering something up? I don't get how being that mean is like even possible for feeling something so great and positive for them.

Quite possibly covering up that she already had a boyfriend, or might alreadyhave one, or another guy asked her out that she preferred. In any case, nasty to putyou down like that when she was friendly to begin with. She could have just politely said she didn't want to take it any farther...

Well she said I was a weirdo basically. I didn't know having real feelings for someone was weird. but yeah I don't talk to her anymore. as mean as it was, my feelings for her are too great anyways. it sucks. I don't know what I did to deserve that. but no she didn't embarrass me like in front of anyone or nothing. it was just really hurtful
