Does he hate me now?

So me and this guy were quite close. It came to a messy end due to an incident with some false rumors and a mutual friend. Then he got together with some girl and he changed. Like he'd get really uncomfortable and leave if we were alone for longer than a minute (yet initially he'd look like he was pleased to see me.) He'd be harsh to me a lot of the time when I passed him and his friends but id catch him looking from afar at other times. He stopped talking to me so much except for when I was with guys then he'd do anything to get my attention and like if I happened to be waiting outside his classroom waiting for my lesson which came after his and he saw me he'd always come out with some girl and being all flirty and would then look over at me whist with her. Even now he's not with that girl he's like that... Why is he like that? We used to be friends... so is it as simple as he hates me or did he have feelings for me that were more than friendship? why is he acting like this? guys would you go to this much effort to be awkward with a girl if you purely hated her? Please help.

Hate is too strong to use unless the situation was that you completely TORE his heart to shreds. I'm not sure what advice to give you, but IF it was caused by you (and don't think it's you just because you blame yourself), then he's hurt pretty bad already. The one thing that I hear a lot of guys do is try to get the jealousy revenge, by bragging or being with another girl while you're around him or even in his life. That doesn't mean hate, though. He probably still has feelings and you two need to talk about it. It's either solve the problem and be friends OR even get back together, or you need to move on and stay out of his life. The most he needs is time to heal and distance from the situation at hand.

i don't think he hates you. he tries to get your attention sometimes and he still looks at you from afar. I think he's trying to make you think that he's moved on by being around girls all the time but I think that he still has feelings for you.
