It's quite irritating. I used to have a guy come into my job everyday like clock work and ask dozens of questions about cakes and my abilities with them and such and every conversation he would sneak in something about getting my number or taking me on a date which I just brushed off, as I'm not allowed to be rude to customers or refuse service unless said customer is threatening and/or harassing me. He was excorted from the premises probably 6 or 7 weeks after this whole thing started because he thought it was okay to basically say he wanted to kidnap me and have his way with me, not realizing my boss was standing right next to me 😬🤷🏼♀️

@Brainsbeforebeauty She has my number already. I called her (on business.)
- +1 y
And yes, she was flirting with me. It was obvious.
- +1 y
Oh okay
- +1 y
@Brainsbeforebeauty She gave me blue balls. Lol
- +1 y
🤣🤣 uhh I mean sorry
- +1 y
@Brainsbeforebeauty. It's okay. I just wish I could see her somewhere outside of work. (But then again, if I DID run into her outside of work, I probably wouldn't talk to her. I only talk to girls when I have a legitimate excuse to do so.)
- +1 y
Why is that?
- +1 y
@Brainsbeforebeauty because otherwise it would be unsolicited. And the last thing I want to do is bother anyone.
- +1 y
Or you are shy as heck lol
- +1 y
@COMMODOREII I think that's been well established by now lol.

Thanks for mh

In ANY service type, it is expected, by some 'customers' that you will flirt, and make them enjoy their 'experience' as a waiter/waitress at a fine restaurant, or hotel, or Yachts, and many others, I am sure!
Flirting, in some way, is expected, by many, patronizing these restaurants, and hotels, yachts and such.
They should maintain a respectable way, and not touch, or try to do anything inappropriate.
Having worked in "service" jobs, there is a fine line, between casual, "playful flirting", to get good tips, and the "Dark Side", doing inappropriate things!
Working for a company, or a specific employer, their Rules apply, always!13 Reply- +1 y
I am aware that there is a dark side. But is there a light side? That is the question.
- +1 y
@Jamie05rhs "Light Side?" Didn't see that in your post. just adding it now?
The "Light Side" is NOT AT ALL the question you asked!
"Does anyone else hate it when their customers flirt with them?" Where is this "light side" you now suggest? - +1 y
@JackSmy You crack me up, dude.
"To be, or not to be. That is the question."
^I was using that phrase in the Shakespearean context.
I have this problem sometimes but I try to turn it into a positive. I send them nice messages from time to time thanking them for their business and wishing them a great day. It helps strengthen the relationship without crossing any lines.

Thank you, @JPrez! That was actually really helpful!

+1 yUmm depends on their intention. If they’re flirting because of how I look and don’t care about who I am as a person than I wouldn’t be flattered. Depends on what you’re looking for. Are you secretly hoping to go on a date and get to know this person more? If she seems like the right one, you can flirt back (complimenting, inviting body language, lots of eye contact, smiling). If you’re not interested, ignore her flirting.
34 Reply- +1 y
@modelUN242 How the heck would I know if she's the "right one" or not? She's just a customer. I don't know her.
And yes, I am interested, but that's irrelevant. Because she's a customer. We have a business relationship. Therefore, a conflict of interest. - +1 y
Okay... I mean if you have limited options for dating, she could be the one.
- +1 y
@modelun242 Due to the fact that I have limited options, she's probably NOT the one.

+1 yYeah, if a client flirts with me, I'd be annoying as hell. Like boy, I'm here to comfort you no need to ask me out, bro.
It actually happens pretty often. I'm asking males "what's wrong bro" and they take it as "hi I'm a hoe"23 Reply- +1 y
@anon1903 I don't know why you got downvotes. I thought what you said was a good response.
- +1 y
Thanks, Jamie. :D

That happens most days that I work.
I have perfected the skill of pretending to not notice.
The most extreme environment is when I provide security at weddings.
The divorced/widowed/never married career women acquire me on their targeting radar fairly quickly.
Even if I was able to respond, I have yet to encounter one with whom I would like to do the mating dance.11 Reply- +1 y
Enjoy the attention.
All you can do is be polite and professional, which I'm sure you're doing.
If they wanted more they could always leave you their number on the receipt or with it.
If they give you their number and you make contact outside of work then work has nothing to say about it.
*I'd keep the note in her handwriting as proof that she initiated contact*15 Reply- +1 y
Unfortunately I already have her number, so she doesn't really have that option. I accidentally took that "card" away from her. (Oops.).
But even if she did give me her number for contact outside of work, it would still be a bad business practice to do so. Because the company could lose a customer if things didn't work out. My loyalty is -- and should be -- to the company, not my dick. - +1 y
- +1 y
Thank you Andres. I have a lot of respect for you as well.
+1 yI'm usually oblivious, but when I do notice it, it depends on the situation. If it's not busy and it's all in good fun, cool. If not then omg yes I'm thinking "nuggets or strips dammit. that's all i asked"

I haven't been flirted with thankfully. I have been complimented by many women though, and it's very flattering. I usually just compliment them back.
But with flirting, I really don't even know how to handle it.21 Reply- +1 y
How has no one flirted with you? You're really pretty.
Not at all.. I actually didn't mind it at all.. A lot of times it actually made my day..
13 Reply- +1 y
Well, it makes my day, too. But it's an empty victory. Which kinda makes it worse, in a way. It's like being the team that loses the Super Bowl.
- +1 y
Yeah. Thanks.
+1 yI would say, you have a nice day too that's about all you can do
11 Reply- +1 y

Wow! Flirty AND good tippers? That's a rare combination.
- +1 y
@anylolone Ok, now. That's not nice.
That actually happened to me too and it was a much older woman and I was still in high school. I just pretended she didn’t say anything.
11 Reply- +1 y
Yeah; I know how that's awkward when you're young. I remember when I was 18 there was this lady across the street who used to always hit on me. I just tried to be polite and keep my distance.
+1 yYou must be in customer service job. That is sucks.
116 Reply- +1 y
One should say. I hope I am reading this situation wrong. That is flattering but I am on job. Or you are cute pretty and I am taken?

Thanks, man. I actually love my job, though.

Also, I'm not taken. Lol.
- +1 y
Thanks Jamie!
- +1 y
Most women should back off by taken statement. If someone ask further question those ones are more dangerous to deal with at work. I get it you don't want to say that.
- +1 y
@EaterPeter What do you mean? I said I'm NOT taken. I'm single.
- +1 y
I know sir. If you want them to go away. You may use it if you like. I think you don't feel comfortable saying that. Just like some time women says I am taken even when they are single. Hope you get the point.
- +1 y
@EaterPeter I would never lie like that. I despise lying. And I despise liars.
- +1 y
Also, I don't feel that it's necessary to push anyone away. I am perfectly capable of slowing down the speed of things. No need to shut them down completely.
- +1 y
Cool. I am not in favor of saying such things either. I rather hold the info. than giving false info.
- +1 y
And why should I share that with you? 🙂
- +1 y
Example
- +1 y
@EaterPeter Cool. But I actually don't see a need to withhold any information, either. (I think it's okay to do so. I just don't see the need.)

- +1 y
Yeah, it makes sense.
- +1 y
Thanks, man.

No problem bruddah
+1 yI love flirting personally. It’s short, no attachment or consequences really, it’s easy, and it’s fun.
