It's quite irritating. I used to have a guy come into my job everyday like clock work and ask dozens of questions about cakes and my abilities with them and such and every conversation he would sneak in something about getting my number or taking me on a date which I just brushed off, as I'm not allowed to be rude to customers or refuse service unless said customer is threatening and/or harassing me. He was excorted from the premises probably 6 or 7 weeks after this whole thing started because he thought it was okay to basically say he wanted to kidnap me and have his way with me, not realizing my boss was standing right next to me 😬🤷🏼♀️

Aww was someone flirting with you? See, could a slipped em your number 🤣
In ANY service type, it is expected, by some 'customers' that you will flirt, and make them enjoy their 'experience' as a waiter/waitress at a fine restaurant, or hotel, or Yachts, and many others, I am sure!
Flirting, in some way, is expected, by many, patronizing these restaurants, and hotels, yachts and such.
They should maintain a respectable way, and not touch, or try to do anything inappropriate.
Having worked in "service" jobs, there is a fine line, between casual, "playful flirting", to get good tips, and the "Dark Side", doing inappropriate things!
Working for a company, or a specific employer, their Rules apply, always!
I have this problem sometimes but I try to turn it into a positive. I send them nice messages from time to time thanking them for their business and wishing them a great day. It helps strengthen the relationship without crossing any lines.

Umm depends on their intention. If they’re flirting because of how I look and don’t care about who I am as a person than I wouldn’t be flattered. Depends on what you’re looking for. Are you secretly hoping to go on a date and get to know this person more? If she seems like the right one, you can flirt back (complimenting, inviting body language, lots of eye contact, smiling). If you’re not interested, ignore her flirting.
Yeah, if a client flirts with me, I'd be annoying as hell. Like boy, I'm here to comfort you no need to ask me out, bro.
It actually happens pretty often. I'm asking males "what's wrong bro" and they take it as "hi I'm a hoe"That happens most days that I work.
I have perfected the skill of pretending to not notice.
The most extreme environment is when I provide security at weddings.
The divorced/widowed/never married career women acquire me on their targeting radar fairly quickly.
Even if I was able to respond, I have yet to encounter one with whom I would like to do the mating dance.Enjoy the attention.
All you can do is be polite and professional, which I'm sure you're doing.
If they wanted more they could always leave you their number on the receipt or with it.
If they give you their number and you make contact outside of work then work has nothing to say about it.
*I'd keep the note in her handwriting as proof that she initiated contact*I'm usually oblivious, but when I do notice it, it depends on the situation. If it's not busy and it's all in good fun, cool. If not then omg yes I'm thinking "nuggets or strips dammit. that's all i asked"
It is awkward, but for me it's the only time in flirted with.
Weirdly mire people flirt with me now I wear a mask than when they see all of me.
Guys often look then hesitate...
I'm always the friend never the girlfriend.I haven't been flirted with thankfully. I have been complimented by many women though, and it's very flattering. I usually just compliment them back.
But with flirting, I really don't even know how to handle it.Not at all.. I actually didn't mind it at all.. A lot of times it actually made my day..
I would say, you have a nice day too that's about all you can do
Used to work serving tables, so the flirty chicks put me in top of tips every time.
So, I honestly don't care as long as there's a payoff. That actually happened to me too and it was a much older woman and I was still in high school. I just pretended she didn’t say anything.
I feel a bit uncomfortable. I'm not there to flirt I'm there to perform my job and make money.
Understandable... of all times it just has to be then.
I love flirting personally. It’s short, no attachment or consequences really, it’s easy, and it’s fun.
Never happened to me according to society am ugly but you must be a pretty boy, to even ask this question
You must be in customer service job. That is sucks.
What do you mean you can't flirt back? How else do you get better tips?
For me its different, sometimes the lady at the till would flirt. Even though its just a joke because its always the older ladies that does it, i get really shy when they do it
I don't hate it, but it can be annoying. I flirt back because when I do my tips increase!
Flirting is better than being sexually harassed. That is not fun.
