There is no one universal answer to this question and the answer might be a combination of these choices. It depends on the man. It depends on if the man is single or not. It depends if the woman is just a sexual attraction for random sex or if she is someone you feel is special and you want to have a relationship with her. If you are married you should not be doing this at all - so suppress it. If single, there is nothing stopping you.
I will answer one flavor of this. If I am single and I see a woman I am very attracted to at a party, I know a bit about her and I would love to get to know her and start a relationship with her…I might start by looking at her and catching her eye and smiling. Not stare at her. Maybe a quick glance and a smile. See if she smiles back. If she smiles back, I would eventually (maybe not right away) make my way over to her and say hi, introduce myself, and start some small talk. All the while looking in her eyes (again not staring…just engaged eye contact). Smile, crack a joke, laugh with her. If I am getting signals that she likes me and is having fun, I would continue to talk, sort of hang out with her a bit, and see where it goes. After a time If I feel enough is enough and I don’t want to push, I might say “I need to go but before I do…would you like to get together some time for lunch or something? I really enjoyed talking to you”. And take it from there, give her my number (not ask her for hers) and tell her to reach out to me any time. Now she may offer me her number too, etc but I don’t want to assume.
If we are talking and it just goes great and it’s like she wants to continue and we are really really hitting it off, I would stay and enjoy and maybe we are together for the entire party. You have to sort of read what is happening and don’t over play your hand. Be respectful and funny and be a gentleman and don’t he pushy. Follow her lead.
Now let’s reverse the tape and start over to where I glance at her the first time and smile - and she does not smile back, maybe looks away. First sign there that she might not be interested. I may still make my way over and try to chat. But again you have to read what is happening. If she is clearly not engaging in the chat and is not interested, you then politely move on. And just realize that this one is not going to happen. Again be respectful of what signal she is sending you and move on. Don’t get angry, don’t get all desperate. Take it like a man and move on. She is not trying to humiliate you. She just isn’t interested. Don’t take it all personally.
Notice that nothing of what I am doing here is being manipulative or pushy. Just being authentic, taking it slow and respectfully, and being emotionally intelligent enough to read the signals and act accordingly.
I would suggest that you be thoughtful and authentic and be a gentleman every time when trying to meet someone when you are interested. Don’t be afraid to approach. But he smart about it. And back off if it’s not happening. No gimmicks, stupid one liners, lies or other BS. That’s my advice.
I can't really choose any of those. What I am not is common , what is common is saying 1000 things she's heard 1000x already from 1000 mfrs. I aim to drop a bomb. For men and I am referring to MEN, those of us who have graduated long ago, paid off mortgages, purchased homes and cars and paid taxes for over a decade, etc. that’s the group I’m referring to. Those of us that fit that demographic & after a certain age, especially once they’ve been through a marriage and divorce, will be much more direct. You realize that you’re not in college anymore. You are very unlikely to have a large group of friends to introduce you to single people. You’re not gonna have the opportunity to run into large quantities of single women you might be attracted to. SO- When you see one and you have the opportunity to speak of one, you better damn well do it fast! And you better make it clear to her that you are interested but not desperate. Yes, it’s a fine line however it’s not as bad as you might think.
Just ask them out. I don't explicitly say "I'm attracted to you," or shower them with compliments. I prefer show over tell. I also think it's a polite way because if she doesn't like me back, that's a lot less pressure to just casually say, "Hey, I know this place. Let's go there," instead of confessing that I like her and potentially making it all awkward for her if she doesn't like me back that way.
My strategy is to make it as easy for her to turn me down as it is for her to accept me. Asking a girl out on a date is a casual maneuver for me and far, far from a love confession or serious proposal. I think that makes it easier for her to say "yes" and entertain my offer if she has even the slightest bit of curiosity that way towards me, and easy for her to say "no" and even remain very friendly if she's not into me like that.
I'm especially allergic to the confession strategy even though I see it suggested a lot here. From a practical perspective, if the person likes you back that way, just casually asking them out will surely be accepted. If they don't, it's no big deal. Meanwhile, with a confession strategy, if they don't like you back, then it can be extremely awkward and damage relationships for both of you. The confession strategy only works well if the other person feels exactly the same way. That's an unnecessarily risky gamble risking not only your comfort but theirs.
I don't know. Might be a cultural difference but I consider it very rude and selfish to dump heavy feelings so explicitly onto someone else like that without knowing with near-certainty that they're mutual. I think my strategy of being casual and light-hearted about this at first is both the most courteous and most practical option.
I filter out women who lack situational awareness and don't make eyes first. Then, I approach and flirt. Next, I'll ask them about doing a small activity together right then. If they can't, then I'll schedule a where and when right then. Often, I won't even exchange contact deets.
Anything indirect or passive from a dude seems weak, and sends the wrong message.
My biggest problem is attached women who act single, and assume I want them just because they think I'm hotter or more fun than whoever they're with. I don't work that way. I don't hookup. Once a cheater, are always a cheater. I'll do open relationships but never anything with someone untrustworthy.
I usually tell her how I feel, while providing her and myself with a way out - in case it proves to be a bad idea. Actually asking her out requires a considerably higher confidence boost.
And when I get attached, I become very loyal, and usually forgiving. But if she needlessly gets hostile and rude out of nowhere, or even outright threatening, or compares me to some depraved criminal without a justification, my loyalty doesn't last too long after that.

I've been B and E for most of my life especially in middle and highschool. There is nothing wrong with rejection. Everyone has preferences, and if I’m not it, I’m not going to go out of my way to try to convince them. What I know is true is this, when you’re focused on yourself and bettering yourself, that’s when you get admiration, respect and get to have a lot of options.
