He indirectly told me he loves me but loved his ex more?

So me and my boyfriend have been together for around 7 months, and I decided to play with him this question game. He told me he didn’t have anything to ask me which upset me because he never really asks me any personal questions about myself. We approached the last question, where I asked him who was the girl he loved the most in his life. He said that he’s only been inlove twice (me and his ex), but that he and his ex had been bestfriends for three years then dated for two. And that what me and him have is completely different. He said love grows with time. I was kind off hurt because I really treat him like my world. I’ve never sacrificed or been so nice to anyone in my life. And to me I can be with a person for a year and love him more than someone I was with for three. His response even if unintentional left me feeling insecure and upset. Am I wrong to think that way? Also is it weird that he didn’t even bother to ask me any questions?

In my eyes, 7 months is a short time to be in love. I think it's a bit of an unfair question to him, especially so early. 3 years of friendship followed by 2 years of dating, that's practically 5 years together. That's a very long relationship and people don't just get over that easily and usually hold on to love for that person for a long time.
But there isn't really a reason to be insecure. He's with you, and his answer indicates he wants to be with you. You're 7 months versus 5 years, it's a pretty unfair comparison to put on yourself, you'll both get there.

Yep. He tells you that. But he was just honest, can you blame him? Seems you would really only be happy with one answer to that question? Not a good 'game' to play. If that is the type of questions I get why he does not want to do that. Sorry.

He should be more considerate with what he says, but honestly this isn't something to worry about, he was probably over explaining and lost track of what he really wanted to say, if it grows with time you two will have infinite love because it could be forever
