Yesterday I was speaking to a work colleague, when a girl I like came in and we looked at each other. Aftet she looked at me, she then looked down to my shirt and tie to my waist (top half of body), as if checking me out.
After what looked like checking me out, she proceeded to go into a room she was heading towards. As she went to go into the room, she hesitated and stalled and then turned her body sideways and seemed to look back in my direction.
Why did she look back? Is it attraction?

And last week when talking to me, she was holding eye contact as she was speaking and then looked down to my crotch before looking back up at my eyes again

Yes, but I am unsure of her feelings. When she is talking to other guys, and I am next to them, she talks to them but acts like I am not there. she seems to be friendly with others but seems to ignore me, or acts like I am not there. She says hello to others and no problem talking with them, but can't with me. But then I catch her doing the mentioned behaviours, such as looking at my crotch.
And when I first met her, I caught her staring at me, but she rapidly looked away when I caught her, as if she was pretending she wasn't looking. Another time I would see her staring at me from across the room, and when I looked at her, she would lock eyes with me and hold the eye contact for about 3 seconds.
She could be trying to play it cool as in not letting her feelings show. My crush who I'm absolutely in love with trys to interact with me when we are together but I let my nerves get the better of me most times. I find it hardest to talk to him as he means the most to me. I don't want to fuck anything up. I try to play it down. She could be doing the same but your noticing the odd sign here and there which is good.
Well something weird happened recently. She came into the canteen and went to the far side to speak to her friend (50+ year old male). He then came with her up to the counter where you order and buy food. Normally you order food and then go and sit down and they then call your order when it is ready. However, she stayed there at the counter with this guy. But she stayed there with her back to me. Most of her time there she was standing with her back to me. Her friend did not order any food. When her food was ready, she said bye to him and left. He then went and sat back down at the table. It just seemed really odd that she would need to have her friend come with her to order and then stuck around with her.
I was sitting at a table about 8 feet from them. hence she had her back to me.
Also, this may or may not have anything to do with me, but I noticed as she had her back to me, she puffed her hair up and stroked it back down, just seemed to be touching it up like preening.
I'd be interested to know your views on the canteen incident AND the preening thing
