There's a girl in my neighborhood, just next to a couple of houses. We both know each other but we rarely talk. Her and my family are close. She used to be my mother's student and we spent more or less a year studying together.
Whenever I walk by her house and she sees me, she gives a sweet smile. Its more like blushing. And it happens nearly every single time. Does that mean she has a crush on me?
Now the problem here is that when I was a kid, round 8-9 years old, I did something very stupid and equally funny. And she saw me.
Now I'm in a dilemma that whether her reaction is due to that stupid incident or because she likes me. Please help with this issue.
One thing to be kept in mind is that I never talk to her bout normal topics like how's she doing or what's going on with her. And that makes it even weird.😬😬😬

Dude, whether she likes you or not, I think matters very little. That incident seems like it had a great icebreaking affect on your relationship, regardless of the form it's taken up until now. This really seems like an opportunity to just approach her and be like, "Hey, wanna hang out some time?". I think it's worth it even if you get rejected, which I honestly doubt you will. She'll get the opportunity to see the type of person you are, and you can both stop wondering!
In the end, even if she didn't smile because she liked you, if you make the most of this, and turn her into your girlfriend, she'll most certainly from then on be smiling because she likes you!

If you haven’t figured out yet if you like her or not, then you should try talking to her a bit more and see then if you like her. And if you don’t like her, then you can stay just friends
Question is first- do you want to know her? Do you want her to like you? If your hoping this means she likes you, then you gotta put some sort of effort in and talk to her because she’s waiting for you to make the first move. I can almost guarantee it. If you don’t want her to like you, then you should just pretend she doesn’t and if she ever does make a move and you still don’t like her back, then you just decline her advances politely. Just don’t say it’s not you it’s me. That means it’s definitely us.
Someone smiling at you in passing isn't romantically interested in you. She's just smiling by way of greeting to be polite. And if anything, it's probably just habit.
But hey, start chatting with her about her interests. Shoot your shot. The worst that can happen is you're rejected.
It does not mean she has a crush on you. Smiles are just greetings. If you really want to know how she feels, get her into a circle of friends, and have one of the other girls build trust with her until she says who she really likes. Or you know, ask her out on a date so it could be more than a crush..
Smiling isn't an exact sign, I'd say you have to get closer to her in order to figure that out. She could be expressing her feelings or simply being nice and trying to say hi.
No, not necessarily! Maybe she is just being polite! This is why women are afraid to smile at guys, b/c they immediately start thinking that it means we want to have sex with you!
