Are guys supposed to lead the conversation?

I mean if I'm talking to a girl I tend to ask questions about her life or school to kinda get the conversation going. But usually she answers but doesn't ask me a question back so I ask another question. This also happens in texting conversations.

So, does this mean she isn't interested? or is this just how it is with girls?

Bc it tends to make me feel like she isn't interested in me because she won't ask questions about my life or school. But I don't know if this is just typical of all girls?

a guy doesn't have to lead the conversation, but he can't be dead weight either. I listen some, joke some, answer, and ask questions in conversations. I can understand you...this one guy friend of mine only responds to stuff & never iniates anything. I have to always come up with questions or a new topic or something to keep the conversation going.

No a guy does not need to lead the conversation. All this means is that you are a better conversationalist than these girls. It's a good trait to have, don't worry about it. It does not necessarily mean these girls are not interested, maybe they don't know what to ask.

No because then it would be a monologue. Girls need to contribute just as much on the topic, just as much creativity, etc.

I think getting the conversation going is mostly the obligation of the person starting the conversation, but it's not their job solely.

Who ever starts it should generally lead, but both should maintain it. Some guys/girls just really suck ass at holding a conversation.

You could start out leading but eventually you should pass the ball and make her contribute to the convo
