I like a guy but I don’t want to be direct about it?

I like this guy and he always talks to me about his life and finds ways to talk about the most random things. Also, he waits for me after class so that we can walk together. I know that you’re supposed to be ‘direct’ or else he won’t know how I feel, but at the moment I strongly feel that it would be too much at the moment and may ruin our friendship. What are some ways that I can indirectly start giving signs that I like him? Not like touching his arm or something, maybe conversation starters or questions that can lead to other conversations? He’s asked for my socials before but I don’t have any atm, does that mean anything either?

This idea is so simple that it might sound like I'm insulting your intelligence, but I promise that I'm not because I know exactly what you're thinking right now. I think that you should ask the guy if he wants to get a cup of coffee with you. It's not a date. It's not a grand statement of your undying love for each other. You aren't commiting to anything. It's a cup of coffee that two classmates who happen to get along well can go get between classes.

If you want to hint to the guy that you like him; suggest a way to spend more time with him.
