I know it may seem stupid to some, but I genuinely don’t have much experience in the guy area & I just don’t want to do anything stupid lol.. so here’s the story:
I met a guy at work that is few years younger than me & the whole day I worked w/him it really seemed like he’s attracted to me from so many different things he’d do or say or act & where we work everyone has access to everyone’s #
so I grabbed his from our directory before I left & the next day I text him saying it was great to work w/him & all he said was thanks.
Im really comfortable around him so I’m not nervous or anything but I also don’t want to be too forward as I feel like I already did by randomly texting him & bc I can tell I make him nervous, but we both seemed to enjoy one another’s company while together.
It's great that you have met someone you are interested in, and it's understandable that you may be feeling a bit unsure of how to proceed. Here are a few pieces of general advice that may be helpful:
1. Take it slow: It's important to remember that relationships take time to develop, and rushing into things can sometimes lead to problems down the line. Take the time to get to know him better and see if you have similar interests and values.
2. Be yourself: It's important to be true to yourself and not try to be someone you're not in order to impress him. If he likes you, he will appreciate you for who you are.
3. Communicate openly: If you're unsure of how he feels or what he wants, it's okay to ask him. Honest communication is key in any relationship, whether it's a friendship or something more.
4. Respect boundaries: If he seems nervous or uncomfortable, it's important to respect his boundaries and not push him too hard. It's okay to take things slow and let him set the pace.
5. Have fun: Remember that dating should be enjoyable! Don't put too much pressure on yourself or on the situation. Just enjoy getting to know him and see where things go.
Overall, the most important thing is to be yourself and to communicate openly and honestly. If you do that, things will likely work out for the best. Good luck!

I have no idea what this person was like, but I do know that even if my number was in a company directory, I would be very uncomfortable if someone looked my number up and started texting me.

I'm not familiar with gay relationships, so I can't really give advice; sorry.
You are overthinking this way too much. Just keep it casual for now.
Just be yourself an if it happens it happens don't try to find the negative in things
