This is driving me crazy, because I can't tell if this is all in my head or not. There's this girl who works in the same building as me, and I think she might now be avoiding me.
Today, I was walking to the parking lot across the street. After leaving the building, I noticed she was also leaving, about 10 feet behind me. But instead of crossing the street, she took an indirect route where she did not cross the street until I had already reached my car. I waved to her from a distance, and she waved back, but I got the distinct impression that she did not want to run into me.
I've noticed little things like this all week long. She's actually only been working here for a little over a week, but I've known her for the last few months, though mostly by email. We met like say a couple of times before she started working here, at least up to a week ago.
In one email, which was only a couple weeks ago, I got a hint that maybe she kind of likes me as more than a friend. But then after that, she seemed to go a bit cold on me, even though I'm trying to still be friendly. I asked her (by email) if she'd like to get lunch with me today, and she made a point of not only telling me that she'd be unavailable but that she'd be busy all weekend long, which seems like overkill because I hadn't even suggested doing anything this weekend.
What on earth do you think is going on here? Am I imagining that she's suddenly avoiding me? Do you think she used to like me and now dislikes me...or does she still like me? Should I start ignoring her? I'm so confused!
