How can you tell the difference between affection and attention?

I recently found this wonderful quote from John Mayer on Twitter: "I learned several years ago never mistake attention for affection." This quote made me realize a common mistake I make 98% of the time and I'm pretty sure we have all gotten these concepts mixed up at least once in our lives.

My question is how can you tell the difference between affection and attention? Guys how can we ladies tell the difference between your affection and your attention towards us? Girls this applies to you as well if any of you guys out there are curious

well its kinda simple..

attention is what you give a stranger/school mate..etc..when you ask them something..tlak to them..

affection is caring for someone..making them something to eat..asking how their day was..ksising them..hugging...if theyr sick,making them better..if theyr sad cheering them up..

affection pretyt much means showing love to someone..family..bf/gf..would you show lvoe to a stranger?..no..

This happened to me before. I treated this girl really nice and she thought I was head over heal for her. Things got really awkward. I'm not quite sure how you can tell between interested and being nice. I'd say take a space and if he still come after you then he's into you. Also ask and be straight about it.

Attention can be positive or negative. Affection is a positive emotion
