Guys, have you ever liked someone subconsciously?

I've had this happen before where I was friends with a guy, and I didn't think he was attractive at the time, but it kinda bothered me when he would be around other girls. I didn't see him for like a year, but then when I did see him again, I realized I really actually liked him a lot.

I'm wondering if might be in a similar situation right now because I like this guy, but he told me he's not attracted to me. However, he does kind of act like he likes me. We get along great, have similar interests, he teases me a lot, and has openly criticized other guys I'm friends with by pointing out their flaws.

Yes, sometimes people develop a pattern and they might not realize why or how they are doing it. For instance, many of my ex's hated me, or I didn't like them very much when we first met. Yet somehow, we always ended up liking each other and eventually dating. Last week I got into an argument with some girl on here and found myself thinking about her for the rest of the day. So sometimes people really do develop a pattern for how they choose their dates. It doesn't mean you'll always meet someone the same way, but yep, you can definitely like someone subconsciously.

Well, if it was subconscious then we wouldn't really know would we ;-)

What I really think you mean is a latent like, meaning you kind of like the person and like to think they might like you or they might be a possibility in the future, but you don't like them enough right now to make them a priority on your list of dating targets.

Well, in retrospect, you would be able to tell if you had perhaps liked them without really knowing it. I had no interest at all in the guy I mentioned, and would not have considered him someone I would want to date. I feel like the feelings for him may have been there, but did not surface until much later.

Maybe the feelings didn't develop until much later and you just think they existed all along. We don' t always start off liking people the same amount we will like them later, in fact, I would say we rarely or never do.

It matters because understanding things better comes from age experience.

Or he would never took you more than just a friend.

Let him realize that you are special one to him.

He will automatically come to you.

He's a sophomore in high school and I'm a senior. I'm seventeen (almost eighteen), and he's sixteen (almost seventeen). When I asked him if he liked someone else he said no, and then paused and said not substantially.

I think then he might have got your view point means he thinks you like him

But he is afraid of this fact I think he is a good boy.

He may not be open-friendly with you
