Should I take off my wig in front of my boyfriend and show him my real hair?

I honestly can't stand putting my wig on every time before I leave the house :( I hate how the weave seems like false advertising and almost even dishonesty, but I feel compelled to wear it because of the state of my hair.

I've been in a relationship for almost 6 months. We're really close and we always have a wonderful time together! Lately when I'm at his house, I really just want to take off the wig and show him my real hair. I don't want to feel like I'm lying to him. Yet I'm so afraid he's not going to think I'm as attractive or he'll find a female with healthier, longer, prettier hair more attractive than me ; (

What do I do?

Can you please help me out?

I've worked with hairloss and baldness for nearly 3 years now, and I understand how emotional this must be for you, and also how much you've been thinking about this.

I've met clients who both have wigs, false hair on certain areas, plugs, and other stuff, due to various conditions. Some of them do not reveal this to their partners and feel fine about it, others reveal it, and feel relieved that they did. I've yet to meet anyone who got laughed at for not having their "real" hair.

What's wrong with your hair is mostly irrelevant, as this is probably a very personal, intimate issue for you.

I suggest you talk to him and see how he feels about wigs and such.

Can I ask what kind of alopecia we are talking about?

I don't have any form of hair loss like alopecia, but I'm just simply an African American female who is very self concious about the texture of my hair

Sweety, don't be. Last time I checked, the African American females had AWESOME hair naturally (you're talking to miss "I've-tried-everything-to-get-some-curls-in-my-extremely-flat-skinnywhitebitch-hair") and you have nothing to be ashamed of. If this guy likes you, he'd be fine even if you shaved your scull.

Sooner or later, you will show him your real hair. It's just a part of things to make you more real in front of him.

Wigs just like the make ups, you put on make ups or take off, depends on you.

It will happen naturally.

Do not let negligently fell off to creating embarrassing atmosphere.

He'll eventually find out so better now than later. That way, the weight will be off your shoulders If he truly loves you, he will stay with you regardless the state of your hair. If he doesn't, it's his loss.

I dated a girl who lost all of her hair (wore a wig as well) due to cancer. I was still attracted to her because she was a fighter and I loved her personality.

it doesn't seem like your wearing the wig because of your religion, like some Jewish women do.
