Why is this and just for fun Americans what pie do you find the LEAST appetizing?
Why don't Americans eat meat pies?
Why is this and just for fun Americans what pie do you find the LEAST appetizing?
That's a good question.
Americans do eat some meat pies, but not in as wide of a variety.
Some variations on chicken, turkey and beef pies are popular in the frozen meal section of the grocery store. They're like stew in a pie crust.
Pasties are popular in some parts of the country, especially where I live because it was originally settled by Cornish miners.
My grandfather used to think mincemeat pie on holidays was a treat. But it's a dessert, right?
Some of the pies you showed look yummy. The pork pie sounds disgusting. And what's up with fish heads? Is that supposed to be appetizing?
I always hear of beef and kidney pie in England. I don't like the taste of organ meat, so no thank you. That and black pudding are examples of why visitors to England always eat foreign food. Lol
We make chicken pot pie where I'm from. Works well with pheasant as well.
Sadly I live way too close to them these days
The reason why is because they are uncultured philistines who don't know good food
One of the most appealing I have seen in some time
Crocodile pies can be pretty awesome too!

That thing is really food?
None of those sound too appetizing to me to be honest, though as you mentioned it’s basically unheard of in America. Unless pot pies count?
I would maybe try the steak pie or the fish pie simply because it reminds me of something in a movie. Pork pie sounds the least appetizing to me.
Pork pies are either delicious or disgusting. There's no in between
I'm American. My maternal grandparents are from Finland. Pasties are a staple in our dinner plans (basically a hand-held meat pie). Also pot pies (beef, chicken, turkey) are pretty common in the States.
But yeah, I love me some good meat pies when I'm in Europe.
If you ever go England, then get a Cornish pasty from Cornwall. Reminds me of being in Cornwall, that! Brings back memories.

I up this hill when I was a lad!
Aye. And if you want to get and dirty. Come up north!
Though Cornwall is very pretty indeed.
A few days up there, and I start speaking like a Cornish person.

I honestly have to say my RA buying meat pies for us while we were watching Sweeny Todd turned me off them. My sister claimed it turned her vegetarian although my money is still on her ex. I am sure as a third party observer this is funny, but it was less funnybascan experience. I am not 100% sure our RA knew what we were watching either.
I think the Asker has absolutely no knowledge of America and Americans, and proves it once again, with the question being based on a false premise. Very disappointing from what I used to think was a funny person. It’s now apparent that ignorance far outweighs comedic talent.
Meat pies. We used to eat them when I was a lad tup north. Back when you weren't even around on this physical plane.
They're not in fashion with your generation either I should imagine.
Chicken and mushroom pie. Hot pot. Cheese and onion pasty.
Highlight o'me youth.
Can't eat that shit anymore. My bowels rebel. 'This ain't food' they tell me. Gotta listen to them, I suppose. They make the rules.
I ate steak and kidney pie at the British Pub in Naples , FL. It was good. All the above pies look real good except for the fish pie. In the store you can buy beef, chicken and turkey pot pies, that you heat up like in a microwave. They are not real good, they always burn the hell out of your mouth, because you are so hungry and they are not cooled off. The above pies I think are British in origin.
My cousin bought a Chicken pie and it was pretty good
but we haven't ate any in while now
In the USA, we eat "pot pies" which are really the same thing.
We also eat other forms of them such as "Hot Pockets".
I just had hot pockets last night.
Americans eat plenty of meat pies. The presentation is just a little bit different from what you might used to. Our pies tend to come in TV dinners the form of microwave friendly Marie Calendar's boxes.
Maybe a steak pie I would but I only eat chicken pot pie’s
Some of those look so unappetizing. But we do eat meat pies here. Beef wellington. Sheppards pie. Stuff like that
How do you know what we like to eat in America? Is it ever reasonable to assume? I'm sure your pie is fantastic so you can stop talking about it.
I have actually eaten option A before and it was pretty good, I'd eat it again.
Also they really fought a war over whether pies or pastries were better?
They are literally sold off the shelf/freezers in every major grocery store chain in the US, typically across from microwave or oven pizzas...
I don't know, considering we eat some weirdass shit!
It's a tie between C and D. The rest I could eat.
We do eat them we have beef pot pies and also chicken pot pies. The fish pie is the worst one.
What do we vote to see what they think? I can't imagine many people liking stargazy pie.
They aren't big here but they are tasty. I'll eat one on occasion
Chefpapichulo would have some words on this. I like my meatpie with hair
I'm Australian and strongly dislike meat pies. I prefer sweet things. Sara Lee frozen fruit pies cooked into hot apple pie, hot apple crumbles and so on. Yum.
Steak pie looks good. But i do like a good chicken or turkey pot pie.
Cause Americans think "pie" means one of two things. Sweet, or sex. And occasionally pizza.
