Yes. SO good!
Lebanon was a French colony for years, so some of its food is Middle Eastern-French fusion.
I really like Middle Eastern food but don't have any good Lebanese restaurants nearby. The ones I've found are basically Middle Eastern food.
I went to Washington DC years ago and found a Lebanese restaurant. I had a dish like a thick stew that was to die for but I don't know what it was called. They served it in a boat-shaped bowl. It had ground lamb, veggies, wonderful spices, probably ground chick peas, probably pomegranate juice and rose water, and pomegranate seeds.
sounds good.
No Moroccan stuff though?
Lebanese foods tends to be mostly natural and fruity, Kibbeh is a good popular dish to try.
Morocan food tends to be more about texture and spice. Hence tajines and couscous are the national dishes. But Moroccan Chicken Bastilla can be very good at some places.
Important thing when trying new places is to have the right strategy. i. e. Pick one dish you know and will eat (chips and fish for example), one dish you might like (Peri chips and Jerked chicken for example) and one new dish (Fish Chermoula and Tabbouleh for example).
Obviously depends on your budget, but the idea is that you try the place and see if it's any good. If it can't get simple dishes you know, right, then you know those "new" dishes aren't right either and it's just a whack joint.
Lebanese food is my favourite cuisine. You should try the chicken taouk and tabbouleh salad :)
For Moroccan food, I’m not a big fan but I do like this pastry thing they have on the side. It’s called msemen.
PS I know these things cause I’ve been to both countries lol.
I live in a small area.. farm style life. We don't have anything exotic like that here. In the city maybe... but i dont get out much. Lol let me know how it goes
ohh farm girl huh? ;)

When it comes to Moroccan cuisine, my favorite is Mrouzia, a sweet dish of lamb with raisins, almonds and honey. if done right, it is amazing! I enjoy Zaalouk, a salad of cooked eggplants and tomatoes as an appetizer.
Hmm sounds delicious. Hope they sell something like that at the restaurant
I have no idea what to recommend, but I recently saw a TV show featuring the world traveling food journalist, Andrew Zimmern, in Morocco.
Every dish they featured looked fantastic.
I'm a steak and potatoes midwestern U. S. guy, so I was surprised that it appealed to me, but it did.
I didn't see any really freaky ingredients that would turn me off in any of the foods they featured.
It was different than I'm used to, but looked great.
We have a lovely Lebanese restaurant by us. The food is reminiscent of greek. I’ve never had anything bad there.
what was your favorite thing you ever got there?
I like the chicken kabob, the kafta kabob, the Lebanese chicken and rice and the tabouli.
hmm ill have to check it out. their menu isn't online currently so i can't check it out
haha oh man " kabob " i would love hear you saying it. when i was in Sweden once i was in an Arabic restaurant and a Swedish man came in and said i want falafel burger and i was like: wtf since when falafel has become burger and what he meant he wanted the big size. @loves2learn what's the name of the restaurant?
Kabob rhymes with Shihab!
And you would fall out of your chair laughing if you heard me say it. 🤣
I don’t really know about Moroccan or Lebanese food, but I have a good friend from Morocco, maybe I’ll ask her and let you know?
lol sure! hope the restaurant has what she recommends
Get a little of everything. Ask for a recommendation. Go with someone who has been there before. Explore! Discover! Learn!
ill go by myself but the rest of that is good yes
I'll always try new food. I might not like it, but then I know. You learn a little and have an experience. Maybe you'll find something new and amazing.
I used to work with a lot of East Indian people and for a big meeting we were getting pizza and the guy ordered some Indian pizza that I thought was going to be just nasty, but it was amazing. Loved it and got it all the time after that. lol
Yes! Moroccan cinnamon chicken. Lebanese coffee is also good. Both Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine are a mix of Arabic and French influence.
gosh you know a lot lol.
Lots of random stuff lol
actually i did know of the french influence in Lebanon. and i also know spain had occupied Morocco at one point. and france too. colonialism!
True. Moroccan cooking also has Spanish influences too.
I've had couscous which was very good and a vegetarian version of koftas (Moroccan meatballs). But those were probably not prepared in a traditional way. I'd still suggest you try them. The koftas with coconut sauce were pretty ace.
I've never tried either but I'm willing to. It looks delicious! 😋😋😋
Indeed ill try out the Moroccan dishes first. 😋
Maybe a little Where my family is from (the Dominican Republic) they have some lebanese inspired dishes like kibbeh I’ve had that it’s pretty good and my mom has made tabouleh salad before.
delicious!
Lebanese and Moroccan food have nothing to do with each other. I know both of them. I have a family friend who has been running a company in Morocco for 13 years. I don't like Moroccan food that much, except that of the coast where there is fish. Much of the cuisine is mutton in various ways but always mutton. Lebanese food is far tastier like Falafel, Hommus, Babaganush, Kabseh, Mjadara Roz, Tabbuleh.
"Lebanese and Moroccan food have nothing to do with each other."
i know that. i didn't imply this at all.
I've never tried either one. If you get something from one of those restaurants you'll have to give a review
Yeah i might post pics too to share
Lebanese and Moroccan food are both tasty cuisines. If you have ever had falafel or tahini, then you have eaten Lebanese food.
i tried falafels but didn't like em so much
There is plenty of other Lebanese dishes that are delicious too
I like gyros which are greek but still delicious
Any lamb or chicken dish for Moroccan and Tabouleh, Hummus and Babaghanoush for Lebanese (also olives).
Yes, I really love Lebanese cuisine. I'd recommend tabbouleh, kibbeh, hummus and falafel
Never had either do wouldn't be much help. But the food in those pics looks good
I've been wanting to try Moroccan food, it looks good.
I haven't tried it yet.
I always wanted to though
I wanted to eat lesbianese once but, she wouldn't let me. Said she only likes other girls.
Oh wow look at that Moroccan food , looks so delicious
Haven't tried either one, but I'd absolutely love to try those cuisines.
I"ve tried Lebanese food it's similar to Greek and Palestenian food like fried cauliflower, eggplant, baba ganoush, hummus, you know middle eastern food.
No, or maybe i did when i was young i can't remember, but im more interested in Indian, Italian and Chinese food
Lamb Tagine is lovely
which one has that?
cool. just checked the menu of the one near me and they do have lamb dishes there.

here's what they got
Lebanese and moroccan food are good. Mmmm
what dish of each would you recommend?
Ooo i forgot what they were called. At the university they had international food fair. The morroccan was a kind of chicken with a type of sauce or gravy over it. It was quite hearty. The Lebanese food i tried was a kind of pastry with a date and nut paste in it. Very good.
I haven’t, no. Looks tasty.
I did not but i want to. It seems yummy lol
Go for it.
by the way i dm’d you 😛
I’ve never tried either
Yum yum
what was your favorite thing of each?
