Ravioli vs Pierogi which one do you like more?

Pierogi are Eastern European, while ravioli are Italian. They use the same dough but contain different fillings and are differently cooked. The traditional ravioli filling is ricotta cheese, and pierogi are filled with potatoes. Both come in many variations. I've seen so many people use so many different fillings for both ravioli and pierogi that I consider them to be the same thing except for how the filling is enclosed by the pasta.

Their shape, in other words.

The sauce traditionally used on ravioli sets it apart, but the same sauces, red or cream, could be used with pierogi depending on their filling.

I like ravioli and pierogi equally.

I can't say that I've ever had pierogi. I've had ravioli with various fillings. Lobster filling is wonderful.

I'd love to try pierogi, though. Sounds delish.
Do they ever use meat fillings? I'm thinking ground sausage. And do they ever use sauces?

love both but prefer ravioli. i feel like it's easier to find decent ravioli whereas, despite the ease in making it, a good pierogi generally is harder to find. especially outside of certain areas

I've never tried the second one, so I'd have to pick ravioli. But tortellini is a nice pasta next to ravioli. But next year I might try some pierogi from a food truck.

I like potato and cheese pierogis and have them far more often than ravioli. So my choice based on my real life is pierogis.
