If there is one thing I miss, it's a full English breakfast, ( only fuck the kippers). But seriously, I really missed porridge in the beginning. Here, they even call porridge cereal, it's hot cereal, as opposed to cold cereal. However, when I was living down south, there I hit on the perfect American equivalent, it's called Grits, have you heard of it. It's porridge but made of corn. I've tried and tried to cook the bastard at home, but I have never managed to cook it. So I settle for the instant one, which you just pour in hot milk and stir and it fluffs up in a minute. But in any upscale dinner you can get the real stuff, all creamy and shit. You also get it in all flavours from bacon to butter, to all kinds of fruit ones. But I just like the plain one. Have you ever tried it. It's even far healthier than oats. Is it even known off, across the pond? I wonder.

It's my money that I work hard for, and I really don't care how society chooses to judge me. If society wants to pay for my groceries, that's one thing... but as long as I'm buying my own food? If I want some "child like cereal," I'm gonna buy cinnamon toast crunch, lucky charms, fruit loops, and anything else I feel like!
Children's food- that's cute, lol. When I was a kid, my parents wouldn't let me eat most cereal because it was "bad for me" due to all the sugar and lack of nutrients- that and my parents couldn't afford most of it. Now that I'm an adult and can afford what I want, yeah I occasionally buy cereal- and have no shame in it. There are way worse foods out there: for kids and adults.
I would get mallow oats which is just like lucky charms, but it has less food dyes and suppose to be healthier. I was sad when I didn't see them anymore at the store. As for foods that's worse: soda pop and ben & jerry's ice cream.
@Lliam LOL I still can't have fizzy, but I'd never try soda on cereal. But I'd also never try juice in my cereal either. Warm low-fat milk is what I like. And yes, I know warm milk is odd, but I don't like too crunchy and I don't like too soft.

I have 3 boxes of cereal and a box with packets of plain instant oatmeal. Cereals are still sugary, but they're a healthier brand that has knockoffs of the original brand. I eat whatever I can to give my underweight body some extra nutrients, even if it comes from not the healthiest sources. But hey, by my name, PB&J sandwiches aren't even 100% healthy and most people would say it's "kid food" too. I eat kid foods regardless of how old I am. I even have nutrigrain bars, chewy granola bars, eggo's waffle french toast, and poptarts.
@PBandJ_Nerd, I was teasing you about putting Coke and ice cream on your cereal. But, I think it's fine to eat what you like as long as you get nutrients throughout the day. I very rarely eat breakfast at all. After I'm up for a couple of hours and have had a couple cups of coffee, my typical breakfast is a cherry turnover or a blueberry muffin with butter.
Speaking of peanut butter, have you ever tried a bacon and peanut butter sandwich on toast? It's one of my favorite things.
@Lliam I don't think I've ever tried it on toast before. I hardly eat bread though due to my stomach being sensitive. Peanut butter is one of those things my stomach sometimes doesn't like, but I still love it anyway! I have a sugary stash that contains pb and nuts.
I eat cereal on occasion. But I don't eat sugary ones. I like corn flakes but don't eat them because all the corn is GMO, which really sucks. So I go with rice cereals like Chex or Rice Krispies. Or raisin bran.
I sprinkle some cane sugar over the top and add lots of whole milk.
I actually don't eat cereal for breakfast, though. If I have it, it's usually mid-afternoon if I'm hungry and dinner won't be ready for a couple hours. Or I might have a bowl for an evening snack.
My usual super healthy breakfast to accompany coffee is a cherry turnover or a Costco blueberry muffin with Kerry Gold butter.

I didn't usually eat cereal, but I've found myself eating it more in the latter stage of pregnancy. There's nothing like mixing Fruit Loops and Corn Flakes, sprinkling them with cinnamon, along with a side of a 1" thick chunk of fried bologna slathered with ketchup and sprinkled with a generous amount of curry powder. Except for over sugary cereals designed for children a number of cereals are actually good for your health. Raisin bran, bran flakes, etc and yes to a lesser degree Corn Flakes are actually all good for you even good for your heart so sure don't eat them.

I eat conrnflakes or this healthy cereal with honey and raisins and apple pieces sometimes. But sometimes I also just skip breakfast. It depends how I feel and my circumstances and stuff.
I am a big kid at heart, although most of my childhood cereals doesn't taste the same anymore it seems everything seems bland and to be missing, so far captain crunch has still remained the same. I can't enjoy my fruity pebbles, fruit loops, trix it is a menace! 😭🫣

I think adults can eat some cereal and not be seen as childish. Like Raisin Bran for instance is an adult cereal to me. I don't see too many kids eating that cereal.
