It is healthy to eat for sure :) Forget which food it was but anyway it was always in dusty containers on a top shelf but then it got labeled a wonder food and entire bays were allocated to it. Just can't quite remember the name of it.
Probably back on the top shelf in dusty containers now. It has been a couple of years.
My thoughts exactly. If you fry it, it tastes surprisingly good, slime no more. Of course, fried just about anything is pretty good, except for my grandfather’s freshwater catfish batter. Disgusting.
I should clarify. Stagnant, freshwater fish. Stream caught fish, whether it’s wild or farm raised, is good. Like rainbow trout.
Have you ever skinned a catfish? They’re like made of rubber. I think it helps seal their skin because they burrow in those mudholes underwater. You ever seen backwoods boys noodling trying to pull them out of their holes? That’s why it’s illegal in some states. Sticking your hand down an underwater hole without knowing the size of the fish can get one killed.
@DizzyDesii It’s easy, and pretty boring if it isn’t fly fishing or off the coast or on a charter boat.
Like in my folks pond, I’m efficient. I drop fish food on the water above a submerged fishnet and catch one in about 1 minute. Done and done. But it’s typically catch and release because they’re pond fish. Stagnant. Barf. So not much point, not sporting nor is it tasty.
@DizzyDesii. Neither did my niece. So I told her to put gloves on. Then no big deal. Or else she wouldn’t fish. Then she went and called me mean Uncle XYZ. So I baited her hook…
@DizzyDesii. Worms not so bad. Fish, yeah. Like Bluegill have spikes in their dorsal fins and can stab your hand. Fish with teeth can bite. And yeah, they’re sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Try not to think about the mucous sticking to your fingers as it separates from your skin.
@DizzyDesii. Haha. Okay. If you go with someone else who does fish, take these tips with you:
Don’t pick them up by their gills or stick stringers through those gills. It’s the equivalent of pushing on a human’s rib cage making them struggle to breathe. It’s actually better to push hooks through their mouth. It does a little damage, but it doesn’t kill them. Fish will swim with hooks in their mouths all the time and they rust and fall out. It also keeps them fresh by keeping them alive to right before you leave. Like letting one sit dead in tepid water will decay quicker.
When you do pull them out of water, they’ll still suffocate to death, literal fish out of water. But it will be more humane than struggling to breathe underwater. And…they’ll be fresh when you put them on ice, which should be at the ready when you dock.
You can see if whoever you’re with knows this. Either you can impress them, they’ll learn something, or they’ll be an insecure ass if they’re intimidated by a woman who knows more than them. In any case, you shouldn’t have to touch a fish.
@DizzyDesii. Yeah. Killing animals isn’t something I enjoy. Its also why I don’t hunt for sport. But we gotta eat. Plus, a lot of inland fish shouldn’t be eaten anyway because of fish advisories. Best to catch and release for fun.
Like in Disney land, we baited pizza cheese and dropped it into a stocked creek at one of their resorts. These fish were swimming over themselves fighting for this juicy, greasy cheese. It was for Make-a-Wish kids and they loved it. Until it came to actually handling the fish.
It was like “Yay, I caught the fish.”. Reels it in as it gets closer to shore “Oh no, I caught the fish.”
Oh it didn't have anything to do with killing fish. I dont agree with “hunting” but i dont look at fishing as bad unless people do it for fun rather than food.
@DizzyDesii So you don’t like catch and release? Even when fishing for food, it’s better to throw back runts because it’s more bone and guts than meat.
I dont know enough about it to really say. Im just saying i always wanted to try but you gave so many safety tips i lost interest in trying fishing 😂 I got nervous
@DizzyDesii. Oh. Well, you can go with your family if they’ll have you. It will probably be boring if it’s not at sea or fly fishing, especially if you’re not participating. So you may want to bring a phone, book, or whatever. I have no idea how chatty they are. Don’t listen to their bull shit if they say don’t scare the fish if you talk. That’s a load of crap. Fish are more sensitive to water disturbances and seeing dark outlines of figures (people) above the surface than people talking above the water. Maybe only the try hards want absolute silence.
I’m sorry, but I have to give you another tip. Do NOT fly fish without waders. I was absolutely stupid when I treaded into water thinking I’d be fine with just shoes and I got hypothermic even from mild temperature water rushing by my legs. My legs were red and swollen and I was shivering for hours after I got out. Stupid.
Oh hell no. I tried that tough shit as a kid lmao. I don't know i may be willing to try again as an adult but I don't know i just dislike that and coon

I trying to like the seaweed cracker thing. I'm trying to like it by putting in on my sandwich. I can't even tell it's there.
I'm too old to re-try food I dislike. 🤶 I am open to trying new foods, but only if they sound good.
I see
Forget that isn't healthy crap and you should eat more of this food shit. Wonder foods are there for the high profit margins.
Lol so its not healthy?

Lmao Spam? 😂
Nah. It was veg not everything but the squeal.
Oatmeal has me gagging so hard over spots ngl. You’re brave for that one
🤣🤣🤣
I meant I see spots * stupid swipe
Thats some serious puking then 😂
Nothing I am a picky eater but fortunately it is mostly healthy stuff that I like.
Oh wow
Raw eggs 🥚
But Oatmeal is my favorite lol
I can't even tolerate cooked eggs 😩
Nothing. I don't want to retry something that I hated in the past when it comes to food
Even if its healthy for you?
Coleslaw but I still don’t like it
Anything okra
Ewwww i just can't. Its so slimey
My thoughts exactly. If you fry it, it tastes surprisingly good, slime no more. Of course, fried just about anything is pretty good, except for my grandfather’s freshwater catfish batter. Disgusting.
To be fair, I think it was mostly that it was a bottom feeding freshwater fish. Saltwater is better. But still…. bleh.
I hate the taste of catfish yet can tolerate shrimp and crawfish lol

Shrimp and lobster 👌👌👌
I've never been fishing

I want to try fishing but i dont wanna be the one to put bait on the reel nor take the fish off the hook lol
@DizzyDesii. Neither did my niece. So I told her to put gloves on. Then no big deal. Or else she wouldn’t fish. Then she went and called me mean Uncle XYZ. So I baited her hook…
Lmao 🤣 I didn't think about gloves. But in general, i can't handle trying to grab a squirming fish nor a wiggling worm
Ok i won't be fishing

@DizzyDesii Did you expect all this fishing intel when you asked about healthy food? 😄
No. My dude has been wanting me to go fishing with him and you’ve given me a whole new perspective as to why i might say no
@DizzyDesii 🤣🤣🤣 I didn’t expect that response. For what it’s worth, if my niece can do it, so can you.
Im not an animal person so I don't know
I tried liver and onions I just can't
Prawns. I could digest them fried ones.
Gummy Eggs
Yes!!
You had them? I just tried them for the first time
Any eggs. Just dont like them
I never heard of Gummy Eggs before! How did you hear of them? And why don't you like them?
I imagine eggs that aren't cooked well are gummy
How about Jammy eggs?
I just dont like eggs
Gotcha!
None. If I don't like it, I'm never eating it.
Okay
Add butter and brown sugar to oatmeal
I didn't think of butter but it already was maple brown sugar oatmeal
And don’t make it so thick you have to almost slice it. Kinda like a thick soup
This one was just watery and mushy
Nah, I don't like it, I don't eat it.
Not even for healthy purposes?
I got vitamin supplements, besides that.. If I die, I die 😂
Pickled eggs yuck!
Deer meat
Oh hell no. I tried that tough shit as a kid lmao. I don't know i may be willing to try again as an adult but I don't know i just dislike that and coon
