I know how to cook so I wouldn't have been with someone that does not also know how to cook. That is a basic life skill. Not knowing how to cook is up there with not knowing how to do laundry or not knowing how to tie your shoes. You don't need to be able to make 5 star dishes. Every person that eats meat or otherwise should know how to make 2 good chicken dishes (alfredo for example) that is easy as hell in the states. Boil pasta. Sauté onions, garlic, broccoli, tomatoes. Add a little salt and pepper. Once it has caramelized (little goldish brown round the edges) add a splash or red or white wine. Leave for a min add heavy cream. Once it bubbles into the middle add pasta, parm cheese and flip or stir. Serve. Takes maybe 20 minutes can add some chicken for protein can also do steak or other red meat. Second a steak. They aren't hard it is seasoning, meat, grill. Grill for temp you want or your guests. 3rd some type of stir-fry or stir-fry adjacent. My wife is a vegetarian so I do sautéed vegetables a sprinkle of cayenne for a light zing, salt, pepper, cumin, rosemary, and thyme for seasoning. Once it is just about done a splash of wine and rice for starch. Can also do mashed potatoes. 4th 1 type of fish unimportant which type but learn to do it pan seared and on the grill. And lastly any and I mean any of 3 different soups or stews. I presume everyone can find their way around making a salad. You do that and you will find you can cook anything with minor adjustments to seasoning, flavors, items. You will save a fortune on dining coats or to go costs which most people likely need nowadays

Anybody can cook if they put their mind to it and follow a recipie. I can cook and I want her to be able to as well.

So many people today live off fast food which is so unhealthy because they are too lazy to cook. It's why there is suck an epidemic of overweight people and such a high rate if heart disease and diabetes.

I start my day with a cooked breakfast before I head off to work and which ever one of us is home first at night, cooks supper.

It's now 3am and I am up getting ready for work. I will start cooking my breakfast shortly. Scrambled egg whites with back bacon on a wrap with a bit if salsa and a yogurt. Coffee for the road.

I like cooking together and nothing says "I love you", and that you care, more than making an effort to make a meal for someone, or to make one together. My fiancee is from China and prefers Chinese style of cooking. I do not. If she wants to eat her food, it is important for her to be able to cook. . . and she can, very well. If I want to eat standard American carnivore food, it is important for me to be able to cook. . . and I can, very well.

I'm a damn good cook and I enjoy doing it. I also really like 'cooking dates' where we both pick a recipe, shop for the ingredients and cook together. Sometimes I'll be chef de cuisine and she'll be sous chef or vice versa if she's better at a specific dish or technique. Sometimes we may choose a really complicated multi-day preparation and we both learn a ton while having fun creating mouth watering meals.

It’s important to me because for me always getting takeout food and eating in restaurants is nice but there’s nothing like homemade cooked food. But I do enjoy that and I would continue doing that eating in restaurants and getting takeout food I just need a break once in a while and to have a home-cooked meal. Sure would be nice

I kinda like cooking so it's not a huge disaster if she doesn't do it supremely well, but I just gotta say there's truth in the old saying 'the way to a man's heart is through his stomach'. And I've also experienced an odd feeling of comfort and joy when receiving food cooked by a woman. I'm also easy to please, I like simple hearty food like stews, casseroles, curries, pies, meat and potatoes, etc.
