But are you offended by hot cross buns?
Are hot cross buns offensive?
But are you offended by hot cross buns?
I think we (not me really, the collective we) are too worried about what offends others. What ever happened to accept others and their diversity. I don’t find other or different religious items/holidays/well wishing comments/ etc offensive in any way (unless of course it causes physical harm or oppress others).
It seems the new norm is…”it’s offensive if you don’t agree with me and my group”rather than actually accepting and including others and their beliefs/history/etc.
Note: we can still be friends we don’t agree with (by the way: I know few that I actually agree on 100% on all topics)
That's not a cross anyway, despite what the name of the bun is. That's an ad for X, formerly Twitter. Elon Musk is no dummy... he gets free advertising in a bakery.
by the way, a tic mark (Americans call it a check mark) because it unfairly denigrates those with Parkinson's disease and those from Czechia.
Cutting a cross before baking in breads and buns is tradition in christian countries. Bread is body of Jesus in their belief. I don't think it's offensive for Christians.
No, it's just a type of bread. I've never had them but they always look good. Almost reminds me of those pretzel buns.

I thought the whole point of Hot Cross Buns was to celebrate Easter. Which is when we celebrate Jesus being murdered by the Romans. How could that be offensive?
It's a good thing I don't shop at Iceland.
He wasn't murdered. He was found guilty according to the laws of the day
which version was that? see john chapter 18, 28-39.
I don't really feel offended by the cross on the hot cross bun, but IT is not fair that we change a tradition of one religion just to accommodate another. Tolerance is not about adjusting to everybody, it's about accepting the differences that make people unique. Such behavior is not tolerant at all.
While some may appreciate the sweet and spicy aroma of hot cross buns, my olfactory senses yearn for the intense and pungent smells of sour milk, rotten eggs, and decaying flesh. The foul stench of moldy cheese and stagnant water are the scents that truly tickle my senses. So, to answer your question, hot check buns would only be appetizing if served on a spoiled fish. 👃🐟
I have strayed whip cream across her hot buns many times in the past, to both of our mutual enjoyment? "Ticks' you say... Ticks? What kinda ticks?
Oh... wait, a minute, that's not the hot cross buns you are asking about? 🤔🤔🤦♂️
Sorry, yes, I do like hot cross buns
Part of me wonders, would anyone today have even tied it to Christianity if people didn't say "The crosses are because of Christians"? I feel like most people would have just been like "There's an X in the bun."
Iceland is a terrible store anyway. Fuckwit tick bins are offensive. They don't do "hot menorah buns" or "hot mohammed buns" so why only target Christians? Surely they should try to offend all faiths equally if they're truly non-religious?
wow, I am so glad I have a life and don't have time to worry about a pastry offending someone.
How about the people that are offended because they changed the design on them?
Now what do they do?
Hot crescent buns are called croissants, and they're available all year round. (Although isn't it Ramadan at the moment?)
I doubt they're offensive, but shops could always call them Hot X buns, instead. Maybe with some X-Men merch.
It looks more like an x than it does a cross but I guess. The check looks kinda lame though. Like branding your bun with a Nike sign.
non-Christians using "offensive" to attack Christians, again.
it didn't insult anyone! except vampires!
Iceland. Of course. Those people are seriously weird. It must have been all the in-breeding that caused it.
Really? The poor decide not to like the bread buns? Well, "let them eat cake!"
Bit bloody stupid, also if that’s why they changed them, then Iceland needs to rethink itself.
Imagine being such a loser in life that you bitch out a bakery owner for making bread the way they're supposed to make it.
If that is true, these people really need to get a grip.
But this way you offend people who believe in checkmarks
All I know is thar I really enjoy a fresh hot cross bun that is made with extra raisins and slathered with cold butter.
I never even knew people would get offended by a hot cross bun. I'm Christian and I ever even thought of anything religious about that. It's just a bread and they look more like X than a cross.
That's freedom for you. Liberal shit takes over enough government, opens the border then tyranicaly opposes the nation's native people in the name of tolerance and acceptance.
I dont see any cross
that looks like a '+'
