But which of these great British foods should i be stockpiling for the upcoming famine?

I like canned tuna. Don’t forget that raw honey never spoils. King Tut’s honey from his tomb is still edible… they say. You can rotate the cans by eating some and putting new ones in the back of a slanted shelf that just rolls them down as needed. Such shelves are available on Amazon. This way you keep them all within expiration date and you have a lot on hand if needed. Canned meats seem to last longest. Don’t forget Christmas with a canned figgy pudding from Spam:

Below is a quick search on Amazon, I don’t know if it is the best rack so research them if you want:
Stocking up is always a good thing & in addition to goods that come in a can here are a few ideas that I’m sure someone out there is buying.
Yes, people who have to choose between heating their homes and feeding themselves on a weekly basis should be hoarding commodities in their tiny British homes to protect themselves against the effects of a bunch of rich individuals f**king over the country for profit.
Britain in a nutshell. We absolutely must remain entangled in this s**tstorm.
Canned meats are the best for protein. Some can last a long time before going bad. You can't live very well without protein, and in times of scarcity it will be the things that sell out first.
For stockpiling, think about versatility and nutrition. Tinned tomatoes and beans are excellent staples. Consider adding tinned fish like sardines or mackerel, which are nutrient-rich and versatile. Tinned vegetables, like peas and carrots, offer variety. Meat products such as corned beef or chicken provide protein. You might find interesting boutique options, like gourmet soups or tinned fruits for a bit of sweetness. Each tin reveals a story—from rustic farm fields to bustling fishing docks—enhancing your culinary journey. 🍅🐟🥫

I'll say it again - if you don't already have enough food and water to get your household through 3 days, you are kind of a failure as an adult. Emergencies happen everywhere. Fires, floods, snow, drought, mud slides, volcanoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, plagues of insects, transportation problems, and wars are just some examples. Has everyone forgotten COVID already?
It's really not that difficult or that expensive to have a 3 day stockpile. Better include first aid supplies, diapers, feminine hygiene products, any prescription meds, and anything else you can't live without if all services got cut off 5 minutes from now.
You should buy foods you already eat and constantly rotate your stock - don't just buy a case of beef stew that you wouldn't normally eat, or it will probably go to waste.
If you don't already have this, buy one day's worth of storage food every week, or even every 2 weeks, until you do. It really won't cost all that much.
I doubt that there will be a "dark hungry days ahead because of Trump's tariff's" Covid was more challenging than what the Labour government would have us believe, I routinely have at least 3 months of shelf stable foods on hand.
I would not just limit that store to only tinned foods, but also dried pulses, other Dehydrated basics like potatoes, soup bases, dried full fat milk, flour etc, then you've also got to take into account and of the basic ingredients you have in your freezers.
When Covid kicked off I did nor buy any food stuffs for over two months til the hysteria had cooled down then I started restocking with home deliveries.
Remember the bigger the mix on you shelves/in the freezer the less chance of getting bored of what you eating.
Having a 3 month buffer of food on hand gives you breathing space, while the idiots in Government get their collective heads out of their arses.
Edit; here's a page that shows meals that uses Canned goods;

These are outstanding canned food items made in America
You're pretty much fucked unless your government makes a good deal. America supplies Europe with a lot of their crop seeds and animal feed. So much of your food supply chain is at risk. Never forget, America supplies the energy for a lot of the world. We are the largest food exporter and largest oil producer and refiner. Without oil machines don't run. Without food, people don't run.
We'd rather eat our own children than bow down to Trump
I didn’t know you needed incentive to do that. I thought sexual vampirism of children, child sacrifice, and cannibalism were all standard fare of the socialist cabal.
Probably meals in tins and things that would bulk out meals nicely i. e beans and chickpeas. Meat maybe a good idea too if you're concerned about meat prices
If you're going to stock up, get potatoes. They are nourishing in times of crisis, and don't need much preparation. They can even be eaten raw, if cooking is not available.
It's custard surely Americans have custard on your apple pies
lmfao... just realized that Birds, might be the brand
Really? Spam! Nothing better than ground pig fat blubber.
Allnof those things plus bags of beans rice peas water tp paper learn how to send smoke signals and how to read them in case the power goes out you can still ask questions
You forgot the Spam! It has enough preservatives in it to embalm whom ever eats it.
My mother's side of the family is Irish, give me the spuds!
Tuna tinned is not too bad..
The largest risk to the world and Democracy in general is the " Tariffyer "
First I've heard of this... When was this announced @purplepoppy?
Couple of days
Canned tuna, salmon, ham, chicken, turkey. spam or otherwise known as spicy ham. Beans and veggies of various types. As well as anything high in protein.
In any case beans and fish in oil: energy and vital vitamines ;0)
ODORONO!!!
You will get your food from somewhere else.
What "dark days" are they talking about.
Tuna, potatoes, veggies.. Make chinese style meals you will stay full.. Id say rice but its not canned.. If i was you id make the meal and try getting used to it, Rice lasts and rice tuna then extras.
Would the tinned flavor make the haggis taste better?
Nope, haggis is best fresh
If it were me it would be fish. I loved canned tuna and sardines.
An excuse to raise taxes I'm sure for those useless aircraft carriers
Dry rice and beans. If you aren't broke stuff like mountain house is a solid option.
Don't. Campaign and vote to reduce restrictions on farming and fishing so your country is able to feed it's own people.
Meatballs are tasty so I'd go with those but I'd probably eat whatever I can get for cheap
Things you actually want to eat now and possibly 6 months from now
My suggestion is to buy a good tin opener!
Mm potatoes 🤤 🥔 🤤 🥔
