  @Bards well it is the same concept as religion, tradition, culture, technically they're all just shared beliefs with the notion of being accepted as "true" without any solid basis beyond that "people have been doing it, my parents have been doing it and people around me have been doing it so it's probably true and everyone who tells me it's wrong are wrong"
  
  But this time I'm mostly just talking about traditionalism in dating. I think whoever has more money should pay, not the "male" or the "female".

  Meh. I think everyone should "pay to play" if the date requires money. Just because someone makes more doesn't mean they should automatically pay for the other person. That opens them up to feeling like the other person owes them something.
  
  Personally I respect women who pay for themselves and don't expect me to pay. If at the end of the night, they don't even offer to pay for their half... there will not be a second date. I'll pay that one and be done.
