I'm just going to be blunt here. I've seen girls wear make up that doesn't look bad and they still look recognizable... Buuuuut I've seen MANY girls in real life where they look like a total different person without make up. I think that's over doing it, if a girl looks like a total different person without make up vs. having make up on then it's going towards the fake side of things.
Or towards a false advertisement of things.
I agree with this. I don't consider women who wear makeup as fake. I don't care if it's balanced, little or heavy. As long as it looks good then it's good. Whether it's little or heavy makeup, if it looks bad then it was badly applied. I don't care either way about what girls do with their faces.
Ofcourse its fake... Does your face naturally grow foundation? Lol...
I hate makeup.. Its deceitful and unnatural. (Now this is the part where i get a shit ton of pink downvotes from girls who cake there face everyday and they're upset because i said all their beauty comes from a bottle).

It doesn't make me feel better. I like that I have the ability to mix up my look, just like clothes. It's not hard to understand at all.
@amarahorrorstory come one... The overwhelming majority of girls use makeup as a means of improving or covering flaws. Very very very few use it to "give them options" even so. I think those extra "options" look bad.
If a guy wore makeup to have a different look he'd look fucking ridiculous. I don't see why it's any different for girls?
That doesn't mean I'm one of them and I just don't understand why it matters what she puts on her face. Guys do wear makeup, it's not common but I think they look nice. If you think the options look bad, don't look at them. It's simple.
Here's why I can't agree with you.
1. "Makeup is for the enhancement of inborn beauty" - I disagree, naturally beautiful girl needs no makeup, furthermore - beautiful girl can ruin her good looks by excessive usage of makeup. On the other hand, ugly girl can't become beautiful by using just makeup.
2. "Makeup can be a reflection of the character one portrays" - Sure, if you portray Joker :P
3. "Applying makeup is an art" - Of course, if you disregard the fact that makeup contains various unhealthy chemicals.
4. "Applying makeup is a reflection of an artist's real skills" - Well, human face is not a canvas.
5. "There is more to a girl than how she does her makeup" - Why would she waste her money on makeup anyway?
Basically, I have nothing against small amounts of natural looking makeup, like face powder, concealer, primer/foundation, but I never liked various blushers, lipsticks, mascara, nail polish and stuff like that.
An already naturally beautiful girl can further enhance her features with makeup, and a less attractive girl can slightly improve her features with it, or use it to draw more attention to her better features and less to her weaker ones.
Not all makeup is clown-like or excessive. The majority of women, myself included, do not use nearly enough to look like The Joker.
The chemicals in makeup usually do no harm if you take care of your skin (which you should be doing regardless of whether or not you choose to use makeup) and if you don't have any allergies to them. I have rather sensitive skin and have never had a reaction due to makeup.
Anything can be a canvas. There are no limitations to art.
A girl would spend money on makeup for the same reason one would buy hair products or nice clothes. She feels it makes her appear more attractive and that it makes her feel good about herself. There is nothing wrong with that.
@aWes0MeNeSs An already beautiful girl doesn't need to use makeup, most guys like her the way she is. Less attractive girl can only become fake hot girl, in order to mislead naive guys.
As I said, I'm ok with natural looking makeup.
A beautiful girl shouldn't spend her money on makeup or expensive clothes because she is already attractive without them. Personally, I never liked high-maintenance girls, girly girls or classy girls, I prefer sporty, tomboyish and casual girls.

Most people make up the face not chest as well
This is not the vast majority of women at all. Most of the women I know, myself included, don't even possess the skill or knowledge with makeup in order to completely transform our faces like that. Shit, I can't even cover a pimple completely.

@aWes0MeNeSs same, I find its the difference of liquid vs powder foundation makes the change. I started with liquid but it made my face blemish and wasn't great, since then I've been on powder.
@19magic I've used both and I prefer liquid as well.
I don't down makeup at all and wearing it doesn't make you fake. Makeup "can" enhance what is there... but I personally know girls that look like Crack addicts until they put on their face. It really is a night and day difference.

I wear makeup and I'm not ashamed of it. Guys can call me fake, girls can call me vain. It's something I like doing. Even if you want to do a whole Brenton Rock and change yourself completely, it's no ones right to judge.
I'm an average Australian guy and I adore the talent, time and beautiful results that come from a woman doing her makeup. I have posted a question asking how to date woman who enjoys wearing make up all the time. But more than that, I'd like to understand the womans view of makeup and exactly why it has this power that it does. Any comments are much appreciated.

I don't mind girls wearing makeup at all I think it looks great but I do believe that once in awhile they should be days where you shouldn't wear makeup because your face needs to breathe and wearing makeup every day can make your face age faster than it should. I like to put on mascara and a little blush and maybe lipstick if I'm in the mood but I do believe in putting a lot of makeup for special occasions only. That's just me.
Makeup is fraud so reconsider rating her on a scale instead of overestimating. Most women without makeup are usually fucked.
I *have* seen make up that makes a woman look fake though. And by fake I mean plastic. But I think a little make up goes a long way.

I can agree wit this.. On a side note, the only time i think its nasty.. Is when its like the 100 layer challenge for foundation. In my opinion less is more. It doesn't mean its fake its just well not attractive to me.
This contouring and all that other stuff changes how a person looks completely. Half the time it doesn't enhance because there is nothing to really enhance. If someone is ugly they will do anything to make themselves appealing usually for the opposite sex. But yeah whatever it isn't a big deal. Makeup is powder and chemicals lmao. Paint that face girl.

Make-up has toxins that will ruin your skin over time.
If you want to ruin your skin, go ahead.
That's why we have websites to check which products are safe for our skin and which ones won't and we have skincare products. Plus, we all age anyway so it really doesn't matter.
