Well, it's not up to you how I feel about make-up is it? Sure some prefer the make-up, but if someone doesn't like it then it's fine for them to have the opinion that make-up is fake or doesn't look good or whatever else.
So if you say "Makeup Does Not Make a Girl Look Fake" and I say, well I don't like it for whatever reason and that's what's important to me, then I think that's the end of the discussion isn't it?
Yeah makeup can make you look fake depends on how you apply it. Some girls look natural with makeup than you have the busted transvesite clown looking girls.
Not all artists paint. There is more than one level to art. Art can be something as simple as origami. You're not necessarily painting a new face if you don't go completely overboard with it, in which most girls do not. The average girl cannot completely change her natural facial structure and features with just makeup (even makeup artists have a hard time with this). In order to paint a completely new face, you would need to completely change your features, as well as cover every bit of skin with the makeup. I, as well as many other girls, do not even come close to covering our entire face. In fact, the little foundation/concealer I use is just enough to even out some of the redness in my cheeks. It is still there, but not to the extent that it normally is. By this logic, getting braces would also be fake, as it would be changing your natural teeth into something they aren't by nature.
@aWes0MeNeSs Ya but there's no closer comparison than painting
No, braces are not being fake because it is molding your image, they aren't a part of you. It's more like a laser surgery, or having a brace. Not makeup.
Makeup isn't a part of you either. It washes off. Braces change your natural teeth, which is a part of your appearance, so that they are straighter and more attractive (though in extreme cases, they are to prevent discomfort). Teeth whitening is also a way to alter your appearance. Makeup is just a way to enhance/slightly alter your appearance when used in moderation.
@aWes0MeNeSs But braces are sometimes actually needed to keep teeth from going places they shouldn't and for gums to stay healthy. Teeth whitener I don't understand why they can't brush their teeth. Makeup is not necessary for health
Teeth whitener isn't for people who don't brush their teeth. Not everyone's teeth are naturally really white. Mine aren't, and neither are my dad's, and we both take great care of our teeth. Yes, braces can be for that reason too, but many people get them because they want straight teeth. My point is that there are several things people do to alter their appearance, and makeup is no more fake than any of those things. Maybe if you overdo it, but regular everyday makeup is not "fake".
"Artists paint. So you're painting a new face. Its fake." That is a bad comparison... If you know art then many artists express their feelings, emotions, and passion through art.
Fake is "claiming to be something they are not", how I see it would be that one is fake if they say that that is how they naturally look like (when wearing makeup). Its also fake when someone claims that their plastic surgery made face or body is "natural", when its not. Thats by going by its definition. Saying I've got make up on is not claiming to be something you are not, because clearly they are stating the fact that this is not how I actually look like.
You read that wrong... 😐 I said "artists" express their feelings, emotions and passion through art, its not always just painting a new painting or whatnot. For SOME people makeup is a passion, and not due to insecurity of any kind. I don't need makeup but I like to use it anyways because makeup is actually a passion of mine, I enjoy "painting" my face... As for actual makeup artists, makeup is also a passion of theirs, and for some (depending on what kind of makeup artist they are) they do actually express themselves through makeup. Even some regular people express themselves through makeup, an extreme example is drag queens, but that is actually a way of expressing themselves.
@Rainie_ Wrong Nope I never read anything wrong cuz I'm always right m8 me mum told me u gonna challenge me mum? She's a scientist she'll fite u anyday m8
What I'm saying is that there's a coat of whale poop, crushed beetles, roadkill, bull testicles and fish scales that alters your appearance, it does! If it didn't no one would use it! You change your face to look better (or for "yourself") it's still fake, possibly a master-of-disguise type of deal
Well I guess everyone has different perspectives. I didn't say make up doesn't alter ones appearance, of course it does. But being fake is saying that "this is how i actually look like", when you don't, Im just going by the definition of the dictionary here.
Thats how most guys think lol. For a lot of girls a change in small details is just enough to complete something for us, like how accessories complete an outfit despite it being such a minor thing, and despite being able to just go out without the accessories to begin with. Thats just how a lot of us are. Most guys have a really hard time seeing the point in things like that because in many cases you look more at whats practical rather than what you enjoy or like.
Why alter your appearance, you ask? I don't know, why do you cut your hair? Why do you wear certain types of clothes and not others? It's all to improve your appearance and bring out your good features, while bringing less attention to your less attractive ones. Makeup doesn't have to hide anything (and it's actually very hard to hide most things completely with makeup), it can be used to enhance already existing features, and that is what it is usually used for. The assumption that people who alter their appearance have something to hide isn't a very logical one, as very few people on the planet have done absolutely nothing to alter their appearance.
Why should we be ashamed and why are you so bitter towards it? People do things to enhance/change their features all the time, such as changing their hair, getting braces for their teeth, and some even going as far as to get reconstructive surgery, yet none of these things get near the amount of criticism that makeup does (at least on here, as no man I've ever known in real life has had a negative opinion about it other than that they don't like excessive use of it).
@aWes0MeNeSs It's not a matter of being bitter; once again claiming something does not make it so.
The issue is an inability to make an accurate judgement on the reproductive viability and genetic value of an individual when you use makeup to modify your features and accentuate the ones that already look good so as to hide the ones you're not comfortable with.
Well, considering that you think women should be ashamed to wear it, I'm going to assume there is some animosity towards makeup and the women who wear it there. That isn't exactly a neutral statement. Makeup doesn't hide much unless you are one of the very few people out there that have the skills to do Hollywood style makeup artistry. Honestly, it isn't that hard to tell what someone's features are like with a normal amount of makeup. Even a large amount doesn't change features that much. You can't drastically change any of your features with makeup alone. There are very few people that look unrecognizable or completely different without makeup. Most of it is just an enhancement of features that already exist. You could argue that other improvements to your physical appearance such as teeth whitening, haircuts/hair dyeing, braces, etc. do the same thing makeup does. It's changing a natural part of yourself to enhance your appearance.
LOL, okay then. Am I supposed to be a mind reader? What more is there to comprehend from "You know what they say about assuming. It makes an ass out of you. Don't be an ass; don't assume." Is there some sort of secret hidden message I'm unaware of?
Oh, okay, haha. It sounds more like you have no explanation and so you chose to pick on the word "assume" instead to me, but whatever floats your boat.
@aWes0MeNeSs Look. It doesn't matter what it sounds like; the fact is that no matter what you say to try to prove your intelligence, there's nothing for you to prove. You can't even differentiate facts from feelings, if you can't do that there's no reason to attempt to educate you further.
It can definitely be fake looking if you go overboard with it, but I don't think it's fair to condemn makeup usage as a whole. Anything can be misused, but that doesn't make the product itself bad. It just means that some people misuse it.
indeed they are both fake, but makeup can be removed easily whilst plastic surgery can sometimes be removed through another plastic surgery. that's how I see it, at least
it doesn't. but what makes a girl faking is her outer image of nice and pretty girl, while in reality she's a latent whore approved by a sexual circus with a hot guy after the party.
Cosmetics really works wonders in the right hands ! Some makeup artists prove that with the help of make-up can not simply be a fatal beauty , but also to look 10-15 years younger.

Even though I don't really like wearing a lot of makeup as a girl, I completely agree with this!

I'm very simple - I do not insult women who wear makeup - but I do think of it as fake anyway.
Thank you for writing this. I hate it when people tell me I'm fake just because I wear makeup.
It's a woman's business whether she wears makeup or not, but I don't have to like it (and I don't).
It's still fake though.
You are literally hiding your bad features and accentuating your good features, and you are doing so artificially.
Simply stating something as fact, does not make it so.
Makeup is just adult facepaint, women should be ashamed to still be using it.

@aWes0MeNeSs You know what they say about assuming. It makes an ass out of you. Don't be an ass; don't assume.
That's all you have to say? Interesting.
@aWes0MeNeSs I have more to say, you just can't comprehend it.
LOL, okay then. Am I supposed to be a mind reader? What more is there to comprehend from "You know what they say about assuming. It makes an ass out of you. Don't be an ass; don't assume." Is there some sort of secret hidden message I'm unaware of?
@aWes0MeNeSs explaining it will do no good. You'll still believe whatever you want regardless of factual validity and specificity.
Oh, okay, haha. It sounds more like you have no explanation and so you chose to pick on the word "assume" instead to me, but whatever floats your boat.

I feel sorry for any guy who is stupid enough to believe I have light blue eyelids.
Bullshit I've seen so many girls wear tons of makeup looking like hookers its not cute your fake bye :)
It can definitely be fake looking if you go overboard with it, but I don't think it's fair to condemn makeup usage as a whole. Anything can be misused, but that doesn't make the product itself bad. It just means that some people misuse it.
Still a chick without make up is better than a fake bitch, sorry.
I look forward to reading about plastic surgery not making someone fake.
there is a major difference between makeup and plastic surgery, darling
@fekjall you missed the point. Make up is fake, same as plastic surgery. Why? It's not natural. Your fault is thinking it's automatically a bad thing.
indeed they are both fake, but makeup can be removed easily whilst plastic surgery can sometimes be removed through another plastic surgery. that's how I see it, at least
If make up doesn't make you look fake, then you don't need make up. Don't make up.
it doesn't. but what makes a girl faking is her outer image of nice and pretty girl, while in reality she's a latent whore approved by a sexual circus with a hot guy after the party.
Makeup Does Not Make a Girl Look Fake
Excessive makeup does make a woman look fake to me yes
Cosmetics really works wonders in the right hands ! Some makeup artists prove that with the help of make-up can not simply be a fatal beauty , but also to look 10-15 years younger.
Even though I don't really like wearing a lot of makeup as a girl, I completely agree with this!
It makes ugly girls attractive. When they take it off big disappointment. Their fault.
