Girls, do you ever pee while standing?

Question

I know this is gross, but I ask because I wonder if the whole "women sit, men stand" thing is another example of enforcing the whole "women are weaker (need to sit and rest) than men (standing actively and alertly)" stereotype that permeates our culture. Obviously women CAN pee while standing, but the result is implied to be messy because women can't "aim" like men can.

But is that really true? Is it really so difficult for women to "aim"? Have any women ever tried to "aim"? I know it's probably not as "easy" as it is for us guys, but at the same time, since the moment we've been very little, us guys have been taught we can go sitting down or standing up while I'm sure you girls have been always taught to sit down, so you maybe haven't tried to make it work standing?

I know this is all gross, but I'm curious if peeing while standing is too messy to be practical for girls, or if it's actually a physical impossibility. And if ladies are willing to share their story about trying to make it work... maybe share what that was like and if it worked or not? Thanks!

I learned to pee standing up probably about 5 or 6 years old, I still can do it with fairly good accuracy, as good as a guy. I grew up with two brothers, they peed all over the toilet, I normally only pee in the bowl, so I'd guess I'm as accurate as a guy. Takes some practice, but when you figure it out it's pretty easy. Involves placing your index and middle fingers in an inverted vee at the top of the vagina, pulling up slightly to expose the urethra , to aim you can pull up more or less and direct right or left all with your finger pressure. My Mom was appalled when she caught me standing and peeing, a few years ago she asked me if I still did and how to do t so she didn't have to sit on a public seat! I sit at home but never in a public toilet.

I think every little girl has at one point or another tried to "pee like a boy"... Most women do squat while in a public restroom but quite honestly you hold your penis to point it where it needs to go but a woman can't do that. We might could thrust our hips forward but there would still be a mess. As far as our culture feeling that men are "stronger, bigger, smarter..." Not saying that's your opinion but there are plenty of woman in this world that could beat a mans ass... Just like men can a lot of women. I think it's how you put yourself out there in what you could consider "weak" for men or women... Yea I kinda wondered off topic in that one. Sorry!

Men pee out a penis which takes the urine away from the body. Gals have the pee come out through their lips which has a tendency to cause more of a spray. Anyone can pee standing up, but unless gals have their legs spread and part their lips, they are probably going to have it running down their legs.

Lol they actually make female pee kits. It is a thing that is put on the woman's ass with a tube on it so she can pee standing up. I have seen them for sale.

Women can pee standing up with the exact same results men have. Women can aim, control flow, and have a clean finish. Many women who practice can even do it without having to pull their pants all the way down, just unzip and lower the waistband enough so that the bottom of the zipper is not in the way of the urethra (most women don't need to move their waistline much, most never even need to expose the top of their butt crack.

Which gender stands and which gender sits is determined by culture, not anatomy. Prior to the invention of toilets, women evolved to pee standing. The female urethra is angled slightly forward, so the stream naturally projects forward. Hovering (where you lean forward or hunch and then pee straight down or backwards) is horrible for pelvic floor muscles and bladder health, so women obviously did not evolve to hover. Women obviously didn't evolve to squat either, as that can be hazardous in nature (ticks, snakes, pointy bushes, vulnerable position). There have been cave paintings found that depict women peeing standing up, so although it's not a widely talked about topic there is pretty solid evidence that women historically were peeing standing as the default position. There are several cultures around the world today where women still stand to pee, and a few even where women stand and men sit--it's determined by culture. Even in the western world, the "women can ONLY pee sitting" myth hasn't been around that long. It started in the Victorian era when clothing designs made things more restrictive, and culture started telling women it was inappropriate to touch their genitals for any reason. Even then, most women's undergarments still had a flap in the front similar to men's boxers in modern times, that allowed front access so women could pee standing.

Modern medicine has supported what history has shown us: it's natural for women to pee standing. When STP devices started gaining a lot of popularity, there were studies done to see how the female body reacted to peeing standing. They found conclusively that peeing standing is just as safe and healthy for the body as peeing sitting. The pelvic floor muscles are properly engaged, and the bladder empties properly and completely.

Source: I've spent the last year researching in order to write a comprehensive guide to teach women how to pee standing, diving deep into every anatomical, archaeological, historical, and sociological source on human urination culture and practices throughout history. Women can pee standing just the same as men do.

How to do it: place your fingers between your labia majora and labia minora (NOT inside the labia minora, where the skin is softer and tends to hold a little moisture--place your fingers on the skin between labia where the texture still feels the same as it does on the top of your leg). Spread the labia apart to expose the urethra, and go. To get a clean finish, reduce pressure right at the stream begins to taper--the goal is to get what's called laminar flow, where the stream looks sort of like a rope (no spray, no splitting). When it starts to come to the final taper just before it stops, gently pause the stream and hold it for a beat to rebuild some pressure. Then rerelease and give that last bit of stream a little nudge to shoot it out (don't power pee, just a slight nudge). It takes practice, but most women can do it once they learn. People who have been using this skill long-term say it's just as easy and clean as sitting. Some people (myself included) report that standing is cleaner because with the labia spread you're not peeing directly on your own body tissue, it's projecting outward.

Aim comes naturally for most women. If you press slightly down on either side of your urethra (without going so far as to when it starts to make a mess) you can move the stream side to side. Moving your hips can give you additional aim and control.

Gotta kinda squat to pee if you're not sitting. And girls can kinda aim sometimes, like I've peed in a bottle before lol and we gotta pee in those little sample things for doctors sometimes too.

In public toilets I always squat, though there was a couple of times when I was young that I peed standing up, and I reckon it is much easier to aim standing as a woman, than it is for a man!!
