Why do some women refuse to be independent and act helpless?

My roommate, for example, drives me crazy. She doesn't take initiative for anything. She had my friend's husband hang her pictures and put together her tv stand a few weeks ago. Now, she has him carrying her bed up stairs, disassembling the other bed, and putting the new one together.

It has been in the garage for a week. Why didn't she move some of the pieces herself or try to figure it out herself? How hard can it actually be? I helped carry her first bed (and carried most of it by myself) and so I decided I wasn't helping her lazy ass with this one.

Our friend's husband helped me with my desk (I actually helped him the entire time) and once I got the hang of it, I did my two shelves by myself. The friend I'm talking about doesn't even try to help him. She just sits there and doesn't ever attempt anything on her own.

It just pisses me off when women act helpless and stupid. My stepmom does the same thing, acting like she's too good to help. I just don't understand that crap.

Cause they were raised as princess until they left their parent's house. Their parents kept that thing going way after their childhood, so they ended up raising an inept human being.
Blame the parents for that behavior.
Society already does a great job making women believe they don't have to put any effort, so if the parents don't cut that shit early, they're gonna end up like your roommate.
Parents need to start teaching girls that they gotta get shit done themselves, instead of relying on others their whole life.

I don't know if it's being to good to help but some people think why do the work when I get get someone to do it for me. Very sad I'd never date a girl like that.

I don't think all of them the women that can be described as "helpless" and "dependent" are acting. Some of them really might not have the ability to do certain things because they are physically weak so you never know.
With that said, the ones that ARE acting probably just do so because they are either lazy, don't believe they possess the ability to do something, or are stuck in the outdated mentaility of "that's a man's job"

Its because some guys are attractive to that trait. I don't know why but some guys like when women are helpless like that, it makes them feel needed. Orrr maybe she's just lazy.

I know, but it's still not correct. We like women that need us, but it doesn't mean that she can't do anything for herself. It just means that she asks for our help, but if we aren't there, she can get her shit done.

It could be the way they were raised or just their personality. It doesn't really excuse the behavior but it does explain it.
