Why do girls compare themselves to other girls?

I often hear girls say that they aren't like other girls, but they often watch other girls and compare themselves to them, even when they see a girl who's clothes doesn't look right they'll let you know. I just wanna know why they care. That sir mix a lot video comes to mind with those two girls being disgusted by her butt, but why does Becky care if she has a big butt is really my question?

Because many women are in constant competition which each other and many women get jealous of each other. For example if another woman has the same tight skinny jeans as another woman but the other woman has better legs and a better ass the woman that does not look as good in them will be jealous. The woman that has the better legs and ass in the skinny jeans will love it. Not all women are like this but a lot are.

Usually it's a self confidence issue. We want what we don't haveven, I guess. I'm a sufferer of anorexia and I can tell you with me it's almost always "she's skinnier than me" with no thought past that. It feels like a negative thought and I don't really know why.
