Why Did Girl Randomly Block Me On Facebook?

2-3 years ago I dated a girl for a couple weeks and we had some pretty decent feelings for each other at the time. She broke things off because of religious reasons. I moved on and we've rarely spoken to each other since, but still maintain a lot of mutual friends.

Recently, she unfriended me and blocked me on Facebook. This seems so strange as I didn't do anything that would make her jealous, or cause her grief - as she also blocked me. I rarely post on Facebook too.

Would I be able to get an explanation, or at least some brainstorming on the matter? I'm so confused about what happened haha.

Jeez could be over a number of reasons. Maybe she figured she wanted to clear out a bunch of friends off Facebook who she no longer talks to or their accounts seem dead.

Maybe a friend of hers told some gossip about you that pissed her off. Whether it was true or not, that could do the trick... But if one of her friends suddenly (or recently already) started talking to you, chances are she is interested in you and figured she would say something to make sure her friend isn't competition down the road.

Maybe her parents or whoever is putting the religious stuff on her saw you two were still friends on Facebook, thought you guys might be doing something and she had to block you to prove nothing was going on.

Hell it could be over anything and the only person who can truly answer this question is her. Regardless, unless you're still interested in her, just accept it and carry on. If you guys only dated a couple of times and that was a few years ago... And you both rarely talk to one another today, why would you have stayed as friends on FB for this long in the first place?

I can understand for clearing friends lists,, but I think I ruled that out as most people that try clearing friend's lists don't block them... because nobody just blocks an old friend, if that were the case haha. You have some good ideas though, but I can see gossip doing the trick. It's just that I'm not sure who she would have been talking to.

We'll now that I think about it, the more logical answer is that she started dating another guy and figured that having you still on her FB could cause some problems in the relationship, depending on how paranoid the guy is... And removed/blocked you.

I know all my ex's are blocked on my FB, but mostly because they were drama queens who were meddling in my shit.

That's a possibility for sure. I know I recently had gotten a dream job, and she is still working at getting her's. Would that cause jealousy, or is that overthinking? Haha

I just recently unfriended my ex that I was with for 4 years because we haven't talked since the breakup in 2013 and I dont care anything about how he is doing anymore and I don't want my current boyfriend to get mad about my having exes on my profile... plus there was just no reason to keep him on there. I try to clean out my friends list from time to time... I don't know sometimes it is just a thing that happens, people clean their friends list i would just get over it. Unless you want to start things up again with her which doesn't seem like it would work out...

Eh I don't know it is a bit weird but honestly I just wouldn't think about it. If people wanna leave your life I say hold the door open for them on the way out. Lol

Maybe she is just clearing out. Maybe she blocked you because she wanted to avoid that awkward moment when you would find her on fb noticing you were no longer friends. Maybe she hoped you wouldn't notice like that. She maybe also think it will be awkward if one of you get into a new relationship. Can be difficult to remain friends with exes, even if just on fb.

you could ask her but it's likely she did it maybe because she was clearing her friends list and considering you're no longer really friends or in contact there's no need for you to be friends on there anymore, particularly if she's just not interested in you or your life anymore but i don't know! I would ask her out of curiosity

I wouldn't bother thinking too much into it. She could've just been cleaning her Facebook and decided to delete people she doesn't really talk to anymore. You could ask her if you really want to but I personally wouldn't if I were in your situation.
