I love weightlifting and will continue to do it regardless of what people reply, but I was just curious as to what guys think about girls who lift weights. I had a boyfriend who seemed insecure about it because he didn't lift weights, and I've had a boyfriend who seemed to like it because he also lifted weights.

The guys who say its a turn off either thinks she will look like the wrestler chyna after working out, or they've never worked out and don't want their egos bruised imagining someone stronger than them/lifting more than them.
Yes, its hot. Much hotter to have muscle tone than being skinny fat and/or having no tone at all. Also helps out carrying stuff and reduces injury. Plus you have a partner with an extra hobby in common

Good to know, I was beinning to worry a little. I mainly focus on squats but also do some arm and ab stuff, just to get a little shape going but not to look like a body builder

As a natural lifter, dont worry about getting too buff or bulky, without strict dieting and steroids it won't happen.
But yeah def stick with it, nothing is sexier than a girl in shape.

I feel like the same law kind of applies to guys because some girls do get turned off when guys lift weights, but this is only really when a guy looks like he's on steroids. In my opinion, and from what my friends and I have discussed, guys who lift weights and have some muscle are definitely much more attractive than guys who don't. Too much muscle is when it becomes a turn off

It depends on how much you lift... if you just look healthy and a bit strong, than no. For me it isn't... but, if you look "buff" than, yes... It turns me off.

I lift and personally I'd be ok with it as long as the woman wasn't super muscular. To me that's a manly trait. She can be strong and have abs but if she has like 20 inch biceps that's too much for me I think. I'd prefer a petite girl who doesn't lift much that I feel like I can protect.

I'm the kind of guy who is reasonably fit, but I don't work out a lot. I must admit I don't find super toned girls attractive. I don't know if it's an insecurity thing or what. I'm genuinely not sure. It may well be that I don't want a girl who looks like she could pummel me if she wanted but again I really don't know. xD

I think it all depends on the guy! like you said if you have a boyfriend that lifts then it's something you can do together and he isn't intimidated by you. on the hand if you date someone who does lift or is out of shape then they feel insecure or intimidated by it.

Lifting weights is only fine for a women to stay toned/fit. Putting on actual visible muscle mass is not attractive.
