Girls, Girl unmatched me from bumble just because I asked for her number and said absolutely nothing creepy?

I mean this is no apocalypse or catastrophe. This happens all the time. But I made some small talk with a girl on bumble. She had almost nothing written in her profile (don’t do that ladies if you expect a guy to engage in conversation). She was dressed very conservatively in her pictures which I liked. She was also very petite which I also like.

I just gave my number and said “text me up sometime”. Nothing about sex or anything creepy. Of course the next day she unmatches me.

Truth is im getting fewer and fewer matches nowadays because I’m getting older. I have gotten a few days and slept with one girl in the last month. But I’m looking for something solid.

I guess I could have waited and asked more questions on bumble before getting the number. If she would have just said “he I would like to talk you some more on here before you do that” I would have kept up the small talk. But nooooo they panic and unmatch.

The fact that she has almost nothing written in her profile may mean she's not looking for anything serious or even to make one-on-one-friends at the present time. She might be just shy (or maybe she has a boyfriend or someone who might become her boyfriend and she didn't want to give the boy the wrong idea - that she was looking for a relationship, even a friendship, online - if he checks her phone, for example).

It may not be because you're getting older that you're getting fewer matches. A lot of people might be busy with holiday preparations, school exams, end-of-the-year responsibilities, etc. I'm sure there are a lot of single women around your age who are also looking for (maybe) something solid/meaningful, a serious relationship.

It's ok if you gave her your number (though I wouldn't generally recommend that, not on the internet 😄) but if you asked her for her number, (being a woman myself, I would think) that might have been too much too soon and caused her to feel uncomfortable. And we can thank all the creeps in the world for that - women need to have a healthy caution when dealing with strangers online, I'm sorry to say.

Maybe take things a little slower next time (not that you did anything wrong this time) and let her "take the lead" as everyone is different. Good luck. 😊

Yeah the real creeps out there ruin it for everyone.

But I wish women would ask more questions, give some leeway and would not be so panicky and rash to judgement. She could have easily said “hey I would like to get to know you some more before texting you directly” and I would have kept talking to her on bumble. But nooooo... chics wig out.

You never know if he is just a decent guy who made a innocent misstep. He could be a good guy for all you know.
