Girls: Do you lose interest if we don't get your hints/signs?

Alright well... What if the guy was flirting back and all that giving you some signs of his own? Would you think he's just playing a game? Or would you think he is just a bit shy and potentially make the move yourself?

I'm currently sufering from the "Is he clueless, or just not into me' plight. I've given this guy all the signs I can think of (without being overly obvious, or creepy --and I do leave when I get the vibe that things would get weird if I lingered). I've dressed up, worn heels (which I never do), leaned in slightly, fiddled with my hair lightly, made eye contact (Not too long, that's just weird.), asked him about stuff he likes, laughed a bit, used some humor, complimented him on his awesome barista skills, and hinted that I like to go bike riding on the weekends ((There's a hint guys: This is a safe, easy hang-out thing to participate in.) He hasn't asked me for my number once in the past 2 years. He smiles, though, asks me how things are going, and is very friendly. But every time I see hm, he's at work. Ergo, I don't know if he's cluless, or just being friendly because his work demands he be nice to customers.

So here's my answer to your question: If we like the guy enough, we'll torture ourselves with the "is he clueless, or just not into me" question until we get an answer (which may take years--or days depending on what type of girl is into you). However, if a girl doesn't want to wait, she won't if the guy doesn't pick up on her signals. Very often, it tends to do with how a woman handles her emotions. Me, I wear mine on my sleeve, and get hurt very easily. Other women are like tough old leather left out in the elements for weeks. Nothing can destroy them.

I understand where you're coming from, but sorry to tell you if this guy is anything like me he probably won't get these hints. I can never tell if a girl is actually into me or just being kind of flirty in a friendly type of way it's a fine line and in most cases that's not a line I'm willing to cross...

Why not ask him for his number and talk to him? If you've tortured yourself for that long it would probably feel good to at least finally know how he feels.

Hmm... All I can say is that I'm not one of those girls with loads of confidence. But it's pretty obvious when I like a guy because I blush, laugh, smile, talk lots etc. I'll try and make him see that I like him, but I'll watch him closely at the same time to see if he responds. If he doesn't get my signs, I usually get a little frustrated. But it also depends on how he acts towards me. If I can see that he likes me, but he's not asking me out, then I usually just assume that he's shy/unsure of my feelings and will maybe make the move myself. But yes, it's discouraging when he doesn't understand.

And to the second part of your question: again, it depends. It's very easy to assume that he doesn't like me when he doesn't ask me out. But unless he's not showing any interest or, worse, showing disinterest, I won't assume he doesn't like me. I like to keep my hopes high :)

Somewhat... It depends how into you I was to begin with. But, if you don't pick up on my signals and act on them, I'll probably get discouraged and therefore, move on. To the second part of your question, if I give him these signs and I think they are obvious and he doesn't do anything, then yeah, I'd think that he just doesn't like me. This would be true especially if he never flirted (but then I probably wouldn't have been as pronounced with my flirting), but still true if he did flirt. If he did flirt, I'd just think that he enjoys flirting as a game, or it was a joke on me :P

And that's where girls make there mistake. Us guys don't go for signs/signals/hints. If we really like you sometimes we don't know the signs because each girl has her own signs. What some girls use as I want to date you ask me out. Others display them in a manner of friendship. Personally I missed out on a couple chance because I looked at the signs as them being friendly. Now the best bet is to just get to know the girl and if you like her ask her out. Forget about looking for signs.

At update: I typically wouldn't see or recognize the signs (or at least the correct ones), and if I did I'd be likely to make myself think he's just joking or playing a joke on me and would therefore back off immediately. Wow... I make things pretty hard for guys :( This question made me realize that, so thanks.

I had the smae thing happen to me one time, at a party I got a girls number and was talking to her, then this other really cute girl started talking to me too, I got a gut feeling that I wanted to talk and flirt with her but I forced myself back because I was afraid of being rude or ruining things with the girl I was talking too. Long story short, the girl who's number I got bared me off and never returned my calls. If I flirted with the other girl too

chances are I would hook up with both of them. That's why I have the mentality, you never know where you stand with a woman until you have sex with her, that means even if you make out wildly with a girl, it mean nothing, you are not borefirend and girlfriend and don't owe her anything, especially giving up your opportunity to hook up with someone who might be way better for you

I was just curious because my friend (who's pretty damn good with women) said she probably still would want to have sex with me. Mainly because she literally texted me asking to have sex with her, while she was in a relationship

Most guys I know are REALLY oblivious. If they don't get my most obvious signs, then I'd give him about a week or two seeing him daily ie. at school, or about a month if I see the guy once a week or less. If I do everything and he doesn't reciprocate at all in that time frame, yeah, I'd get frustrated and move on.

Acutally I'm pretty straightforward, seeing as I'm not that shy. As for the oblivious thing, the guy I had in mind actually has about 3 girls with feelings for him and legitimately has absolutely no clue. If you don't get my signals/hints, then I will assume that you don't like me, and will be hurt. If I like a guy, I basically act like I like him, smiling, talking, and giving him "flirty eyes". If he doesn't show a sign of liking me back, I will assume that he doesn't like me, and I will quickly leave him be or look at him more as a friend.

umm well I just play it out just tread the water a bit and then when I think he's comfortable with me I give him a couple of signs like xx's or calling him cute or sweet for what he said or something like that.. but like if I get a vibe that he's not feeling the same then I back out and if I'm not sure I play it out more and might get some of my friends to ask his friends to figure out...

but yeah usually if I don't get any feelings from him I start to forget him.

If I like the guy enough, I will persevere and be patient. It really depends. Right now, I'm very good friends with this guy I like, and I know he likes me back. I am not sure how long it will take for him to ever ask me out even though my friend has told him I'm crazy about him. All I know is that if I am really into a guy, and all I want is to be with him.. there's no way I'll lose interest.
