Why do girls who are shorter than me call me short?

My friends are all way shorter than me. I am 170cm, small boned and very very thin (think US size 0/2) or a UK 4/6. They are all between 4’11-5’2 and they all call me short.

Why do they do this? Just recently they were saying they remember me as being short 🤨

I am super insecure about my height as I had an eating disorder as a kid and had the potential to be over 5’9. My dream was to be a ramp model but that got crushed as I didn’t grow more than 5’8. I can still do print and commercial modelling though.

The thing is (and no they are not aware it is an insecurity) but they make fun of my height. It really irks me. My boyfriend says they’re jealous because they might think I have it all and feel threatened and I should ignore them.

Why do you think they would do this?

Please ignore them. It might be HWP issue. I know women who look tall to me who are not tall in fact. You said you are very skinny? Usually skinny girls should look tall. You are 5 8 that is not short by any means to me.

I believe I do look tall. When people say I am tiny they mean tiny as in extremely thin. I am 5’7 and even my 6’ boyfriend doesn’t say I am short so I don’t understand why women shorter than me are calling me short. They are a good 5-6 inches shorter than me.

Is it possible they are using some other word and you interprete as short as you said you wanted to be taller and getting called short hurts your feeling. You know people can sense such things?

Yes sometimes I get lazy and slouch. My waist is teeeeny tiny - it is 23 inches small so yeah I do have childlike proportions. I can fit into kids dresses because I am so skinny. 11-12 size kids clothes will be loose on me but any younger and they’ll just be way too short. With dresses there is some flexibility as you can’t tell what the actual length should be - some would just think it’s meant to be short. Plus kids dresses tend to be modest anyway.

When did you see doctor last time? You might be very under wright for your age. I would recommend getting professional help. If you ask me. You may want to faun some weight not lot. Again if I am being asked fie help and suggestion. Above are my 2 cents.

Okay so fair enough you consider a 5’7 woman short because you are quite a bit taller in comparison. The fact of the matter is that it is not short and the most important thing is why the hell should these short girls have the guts to call me short? I am taller than them. Duh! I don’t care if someone a lot taller than me said it - I’d understand that. But when it’s bitches a lot shorter... nah. I won’t take that bull. Nobody has ever called me short before.
