Hot Take: Only girls with deep rooted daddy issues become Feminists? Thoughts?

Never met a feminist fervent in her beliefs who also had a great relationship with her father. A positive experience with a father shows what's normal in healthy male leadership.

It's only when there's a breakdown in the family that this failure rears problems that tends to lead to girls that strike out hard against "control" the "Patriarchy" but really their father who failed them at the end of the day.

Plenty of girls with good upbringing will go with their friends to show support their friends at times, but they're not diehards that will die on the hill of every meaningless argument often found in feminism.

Because they're not true believers. The types of girls to say they're feminist for the social clout in their circle but actually doesn't give af and lives the opposite because she knows reality.

I think a lot of times it can be the father, but I think it has more to do with just bad experiences with men in general, whether that is the father, another relative, or some guy they met. Along with the media telling women how bad men are all the time, and it being ok to do so.

I dated a few pretty stern feminists. Or at least that's what they would consider themselves. Both had pretty good relationships with their fathers. At least they would say so.

The problem with their fathers? They let them do whatever the fuck they want to do. And never tell them how the world really is. Treat them like spoiled princesses and then get mad when the world doesn't return the sentiment.

People are sold lies about how this world works to make them feel better about themselves, then people get out in the real world and see how the world REALLY is. Then they get bitter, angry, resentful. Why isn't it the way I was told? I was told I deserved all of these things, and people would be this way, and they aren't. And it's men's fault, or women's, or the system, etc. I've been there.

The truth is. Both sides do it. Anyone who tells you differently is drinking the same Koolaid as the other side, just a different flavor. The same thing happens with men who think women are all sunshine and sex and then get out there and find out it's not easy, for anyone. The become bitter woman haters.

I'm no fan of the feminist movement, but I don't think it's quite as simple as you're making it out to be. A big part of the reason it saw the early success it did was the human tendency to give women empathy, and men respect. It's the same reason why you still get recruits to the movement today who think women are oppressed even here in the US, when they have entire CATEGORIES of rights that men don't. I have little doubt that poor familial relationships may make a woman more vulnerable, but I don't think they're a requirement.

Hm, I’m not sure. I think it’s different for every woman. I think that there is a possibility this might be true but there are always other reasons why someone may be a feminist. I do think that probably the trauma from rape/sexual assault, domestic abuse, absent fathers, etc made them have a negative view on the way men treat women in society. Again, I’m not sure.

If you mean “feminist” in the current third wave, sjw form then no, not really. My dad took off and left when I was an infant. I consider myself egalitarian and not feminist. Just because my own father was a deadbeat POS doesn’t mean all men are like him.

This is pretty common yes, but it's not "ONLY" girls like this. A lot of girls who had decent parents also end up becoming feminist cunts.

So not to agree with feminists or anything, but I don't think the cause for their man-hatred is that simple and easy to figure out. Or else, all women from single-mother households would be feminists as well.

That is certainly true in a lot of case (most?), but not all. A childhood friend of mine, who had a good relationship with her father, went to university in another state and while she was there she was influenced while she was there and became a feminist. She was "radicalized" by certain professors and feminist clubs and really just lost her mind for a while, as most feminists do. Thankfully she has begin to come back to reality now.
