Why does a girl act so happy to see me?

She doesn't know me, but we've seen each other before. She gave me a big smile and wave when she saw me. Like she looked really happy to see me and made an effort to wave and smile at me when she didn't have to.

I think she did the right thing. I mean, what else do you want? I don't think you would like it if she gave you a sour puss face and didn't bother to wave or pay any attention to you at all. She was probably happy to see you because she likes you from a far right now. No big deal. Be friendly back and smile and wave back to her.

Some people are just friendly that way. It's actually a nice thing except when it leaves the other party confused.
That, or she knows you and actually likes you

She doesn't seem to wave and smile to other people like me. First time she did it, it was a shy smile and wave. 2nd time I was standing near her and she randomly started smiling at nothing for no apparent reason. I said hello to her and she was happy then. 3rd time she was in the kitchen and was looking at me, the moment I saw her she just lit up with a big smile and wave.
