Girls, do you admire a guy that is a "gentleman"? To you like being treated like a lady?

I know we live in a skeptical age, a age where what used to be up is down and the new black is white, which leaves people unsure how to act in situations. One situation is, "do I open the door for her or would that insult her"? Open the FUCKING door for her! Men hold doors open for me. Women open doors for me. A woman isn't going to view a friendly gesture as an insult to her gender and if she sees you actions as being gentlemanly, that's a bonus. Women, the same holds true for you, accept that a guy doing things like that isn't a political statement. We've taught young men and women to not realize niceties toward one another is actually a sign of respect, not dominance. So, ladies, is there still a place for a gentleman in your heart?

I'm guessing a lot of women on GAG are "feminist's"? There's nothing wrong with that. My point is, how many of you have said a guy shouldn't open a door open for you? How many of you said a guy shouldn't help you lift something heavy? How many of you have said a man, any man, shouldn't comfort you or HELP you if you need help? My guess is a very small percentage. Feminism means women want to be appreciated for what they contribute to society! As cops, soldiers, firefighters, mothers, wives!

It doesn't mean they don't want to be treated like "one of the guys". I won't change, because I believe most women still admire a gentleman. Yes, guys! If you invite a woman to dinner, pay for it! You are a complete asshole if you don't!

Yes please be a gentleman. Things like open doors dont put any gender down, these are nice gestures. Just do no think this will be enough to get into her bed.
To not be an asshole is sometimes harder than you might think for some people. But beeing a gentlemen is optional and a plus.

Greatly depends how I feel, sometimes it’s the gentleman that gives compliments, sometimes its the gentleman that corrects with the flick of the riding crop.

The difference between doing and trying is a person who just does, will not think about the door, they just open it.

it’s not about being nice etc, it’s just about being normal, some of that means that hard aspect comes out and it’s more tough love than being nice.

And I wish more guys realize a woman isn't going to question your motive if you hold a door open. What made think of this question is an experience from the other day. A friend and I were leaving a liquor store and a younger girl was struggling with cases of beer and other things, suddenly she dropped her purse, so I helped her. She was extremely grateful and my friend said I shouldn't do that, especially when it's a woman. I looked at him and said, "you are an asshole". Lol

Depends where you live. In my country women like when men open doors for them and similar things. But some feminists find this offensive for some reason.

Yes, that's what guys believe but for the most part, I don't believe that's reality. I've never heard a feminist say it's an insult to the female gender to hold a door open or to help someone struggling with groceries, or other things. Not to say a very small percentage might think it's an insult but my opinion is who cares.

Well, I've never had such situation too, but it may be because my country is tradtional. It's very common for guys here to do it (not even if she carries something, just oprning), like - I open doors for female friends at my university all the time. But in other countries it may look different.
