If we're ever going to see a truly meritocratic society, we'll need women to be willing to run some serious risks. Otherwise, they simply won't be able to compete (bear in mind they're not competing against "men", but against "men who tried and succeeded"; the failures don't enter into competition any more than to most peoples' consideration). Since they're hard-wired to be risk-averse, they only ways to do that are either heavy-handed social brainwashing or encouraging serious self-reliance.

Why is it focused on women? Life/Nature is a free for all, anyone better be prepared to protect themselves.
