Why do a lot of women like romantic movies even though if guys acted like that irl they’d be super turned off?

Because in movies there's no risk for the heroine, you know they were literary made for each other.

While in reality, if a man acted this way I'd be suspicious... in a way, if it's so easy to get him then anybody could. And I'd feel he's unreliable.

It's a nice fantasy, but the one time that I did have a guy like that, all of his feelings eventually became too much for me and I didn't really know how to handle it.

For example: I love Lloyd Dobler from Say Anything, but at my age, if a dude told me that his plans for the future were just to spend time with me he'd get a heavy eyeroll from me. 😂

So, my point is: I like these movies because I want that to be my life, but I know it never will be my life because they're just fucking movies and my life is not a movie. 😭

A lot of women like balance. They like the sweet guy that can be a little rough. I watch them when I'm in the mood for sappy cuteness. They definitely aren't my favorites tho.

I think it's so rare in today's generation that it can be seen as suspicious or something different to genuine. I wouldn't say its a turn off thought. My boyfriend is like the men from movies and i love it!
