In the movies/media/TV etc all the men are shown absolutely smooth Chested and now a days even shown with shaved legs. 100 percent men shown are absolutely smooth on the torso. Do you think if media showed normal average hairy chest/abdomen too then women especially young ones would be used to it and would then like it or maybe accept it and see it as normal for men?
Media or TV isn't to be blamed. Now women actually prefer/like shaved smooth chest and even legs anyway
Maybe for some women it influences their thoughts but i feel i won't ever like or want hairy chest on men

Well media echoes and tends to reinforce fashion and other trends. As far as men's body hair, it probably not a matter of great moment.
Actually, I am pretty hairy and I am happy to add, my girlfriend absolutely loves it. In fact, thinking it was the fashion, one time, to surprise her, I shaved everything. Pubes, armpits, chest, legs, a**.
She was surprised all right. She hated it. She said it made her feel like she was a child molester. She said she wants a man who looks like a man and not a boy who has yet to experience puberty.
Works for me, too. First, because all that shaving was a lot of work. In fact, I don't get it, beards seem to be "in" right now, presumably because guys can't be bothered to shave. Yet they have the time to shave everything else? Go figure.
That said, I shave my beard in the spring and summer months, but otherwise everything is natural. (I have a beard in the fall and winter only because I loathe cold weather and a beard just makes me feel a bit warmer.)
Besides, evolution gave us body hair for a reason. It is a signal to the female that we are sexually mature and can produce sperm to make babies. Also, it traps pheromones that our bodies produce that make us more sexually attractive. So when you shave your body hair, you are effectively sending your sex appeal into space.

And back in those days women at least accepted and expected real life men to be hairy if they weren't too fond of it too... they didn't hate it altogether and wanted even shaved legs on men
Really Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Evans , Henry Cavill , Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Scott Caan, Sam Elliot, and Penn Badgley are from way back then? … I mean maybe if you are 5 years old... which you're not, you're nearly 30.
I have hair on my chest and I have not once heard a woman say anything negative to me about it, it has never prevented me from finding a suitable woman. Besides, I am a man, masculine men should have hair, it's called being a man. So I don't care how movies want to betray it, movie are based on fiction, so why do I care?

I have a lot of hair not just on my chest but a LOT of chest and whole abdomen hair How much do you have?
You know what I found? No two women like the same things. You even have women who prefer small penis sizes. So I am absolutely sure there are women who wouldn't care about chest hair. And honestly, if it bothers you, shave it down. Nobody is going to say anything about it, it's your body.
You are talking about Hollywood, but look at French and other European movies. Also women’s bodies are more realistic. I find hairy men attractive and men with no body hair a turn off.

We should stop blaming the media not portraying things. If we claim to be adults, we should be able to make our own decisions and go against the current if we like something else. Also, I do think more women like chest hair than you think.

What makes you think lot more women especially young women loke hairy men especially hairy chest and legs?
In my homecountry shaving it would be considered gay. In the UK, I don't think men are that hairy anymore but I don't know any guys who would shave their chest hair
I'm from Eastern Europe. And no, this is not even a thing to talk about. Not at home, not in the UK where I live. Men are men, they are hairy and we love them as they are. The only hair thing we talk about if he has a big bush down there and untrimmed. Otherwise, no, I keep thinking but this has never been an issue for any of my friends.
Since no one ever makes any sort of comments amongst eachother about hairy men that means they're at least neutral about it if they're not fond of it. You said no back hair... so it means absolutely no back hair? And no shoulder hair too? If it is there then shave or close trim?
Back hair is my personal dislike. And honestly, I would have it lasered, or waxxed. Shaving would be problematic I assume. But chest hair, yes please!!
Most women like chest hair, girls usually don't. I think it would be more acceptable if shown more, the only one I can think of right now is Hugh Jackman and yeah I'd take that over smooth chest.

For the asker: Tbh, I don't really see much difference. It's maybe darker and more dense, nothing wrong with that. And also, I personally when I like a guy and he has something I like (the chest hair for example), I appreciate it much more because there are so many guys who shave or don't even have chest hair. :(
And the woman VS girl thing it's not really about age or experience but about their view on certain things, just like this one. Woman won't really care about this stuff, if she's attracted she is attracted and she won't be like "but no, he's hairy, he must shave that" and such.
I've always prefered some chest hair over none I think, I do prefer "manlier" men though (though I dislike beards, funny I know). I think there's always some kind of irritation after shaving/waxing so I guess it's noticeable. I never make my boyfriend shave his though so I don't know much. Totally normal to see it peeking, it's kinda hot if it's your boyfriend's.
I don't pay that much attention to men so I don't know if they are all smooth or not.
Sense movie people are fake, I'd just assume most in shame muscular shirtless stars are also covered in spray tan for the role. Spray tan and body hair don't go well together, that's why all body builders shave.
I doubt women are influenced by movies or what's common, they know what they want, the impossible man lol
Probably homosexual directors trying to put lots of bare chested man scenes into shows/movies. When I was a kid it was super rare to see that and if you did they had hair if they were European and no hair if they were Indian. Although Captain Kirk was hairless when he became part of an Indian tribe...
What the media shows in entertainment, doesn't effect what people like or don't like.
Instead, what the buyers like effects what entertainment media shows, as does what the creator likes, and sometimes one wins, sometimes the other wins, and sometimes the former is the majority of buyers, sometimes its catering to a niche.
In the 70s men were natural and more were hairy. It was not just accepted it was manly and liked by women. Why this changed I really do not know. Obviously, it did not stop growing its been shaved.

Mostly younger men don't grow that much chest hair as they had back then
Now I’m kinda disappointed that I’m not very hairy and I hate meeting guys who feel bad or want to shave because they’re very hairy I see it the same as having big muscles or a deep voice really masculine and true some women don’t like it but men find feminine things so naturally women would find masculine things like a hairy chest attractive too
Manliness is another thing , that's a very general term to use here. Hairy body especially chest and abdomen hair is another thing and i don't think women these days equate hairy body to manliness or masculinity since they're shown fit smooth hairless men everywhere be it movie, modelling, porn

I've never heard a woman complain; I've never been extremely hairy so that probably wouldn't be an issue anyway. Come to think of it I don't recall ever hearing women discuss a man's body hair.
Look around you and what people believe because they saw it on CNN. I’d say fully half of the population would eat shit if CNN said it was the next sushi.
