When I'm out and about, I'm usually looking around at my surroundings, and it's a natural instinct to look at someone when they're moving around in my peripherals. I noticed, though, a lot of women in my day to day life make a considerable effort to not acknowledge my existence in any way, shape or form. Like if I walk past a woman on the street and she's just pretending like their is something interesting on the tops of the buildings while walking a whole block past me, I feel like some kind of monster. I don't bother strangers, but I think it's become more common for men to try to talk to random women.
Superb Opinion
I can’t speak for every woman but from my experience one it’s not personal so don’t take it that way. Aside from that we are just taking precautions. Acknowledging you with smiles and nods could warrant some unsolicited attention, getting hit on and pursued. On the other hand not acknowledging you could wound your pride and land us in some stupid argument or confrontation that we don’t even deserve. This seems like a lot to consider but unfortunately it comes with the territory.
