Why would a girl be so chatty online and not too talkative in real life?

Me and this girl talk everyday and she keeps going on talking online but in real life, she's a bit quiet and takes a while to get into the gear for talking and laughs a lot later. She often waits for me to come and doesn't talk to others much. Any reason why?

That's for anyone online. You behind a screen and you don't know the person. But talking to them face to face could be different

It's not like we don't know each other. She's my classmate in the uni. And we've knkwn each other since few months. But she still does this (what I mentioned in the question).

Most girls are like this they just get shy but she will eventually warm up to you. Also some girls just are like because social media is not face to face so there more brave on what they say

Online's a lot easier, you can come and go when you want, you can talk to more than one person at a time, it's easier not to be shy.
