Girls, Crush rejected me but won't stop staring at me?

I was really good friends with this girl i liked, and i told her how i felt, she said she wasn't interested, and agreed to stay friends, it was obviously awkward at first but i decided to still try and talk to her as i didn't want to lose a friend i really cared, and 80% she acts like she isn't interested in even looking at me, and 20% she talks to me as if nothing ever happened i even asked if everything was okay between us and she said yes, but after 4 months of trying to fix this i gave up because i felt like i was making her feel uncomftarble, but now she keeps staring at me every day and tells our mutual friends that i keep staring at her and that she isn't interested in being friends anymore, i really don't want to look like im trying to force her to keep being friends or anything but this is driving me crazy and i don't know what to do?
