Both men and women are attracted to those people because many of them have "charm." As long as you give them what they want they focus on you and can have a charming personality. At first, you feel needed and wanted. Feeling needed and wanted is wonderful. It makes you feel special. It's not until later in the relationship you start to realize that if you're not giving them what they want then they aren't focusing on you.

I'd say most people wouldn't be, but Dark Triad traits kinda make someone who has them able to manipulate or deceive more easily than not.

So it's just terrible for everyone else in their lives. Men, women - everyone.

I can see how it would SEEM that way. Most women confuse narcissism with confidence and they're attracted to confidence. So a woman that's not smart enough to know the difference will be put through the ringer before she figures it out. And some women are V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W learners. 🤣
