Men with psychopathic traits seem to have an easier time attracting women, according to a new study that used an evolutionary psychology framework to examine the relationship between psychopathy and sexuality. The study found the more psychopathic personality traits a man has, the more attractive the women found him.
Results showed that male participants who scored high in psychopathy were more likely to be seen as desirable by women, even when the researchers controlled for physical attractiveness. What's more, when women were asked to compare just two men of similar attractiveness, women tended to find the man with psychopathic traits more desirable.
Oh I know why and its a sad reality for a lot of women:
1. Women who are attracted to psychopaths are probably psychologically crazy as well. They may not know it for themselves, but they tend to be subconsciously unaware of their own actions. And often blow a sane person off for being jealous, crazy, prudish, etc. I had it happen to me. I've seen it before. But they often don't get checked by a psychologist for that mentality. 2. Psychopaths are master manipulators. They are able to conceal their true intent, but sadly these same women give in because of its part of their fantasy. They take what they see in media and fiction to equate what they want in real life. Worse if you have crazy women in their life to encourage it. 3. This is not some 'evolution' nonsense. It's a generational curse. Those markers become genetic and it can get triggered by certain events. That means, because of sin, if the ancestor did it and survived long enough to procreate children, the children or the generation with the strongest traits will develop it. 4. We live in a very sexualized world where they don't adhere to godly values. And because of this, thee women go for anybody they lust after. The psychopaths know this and use their charm and female psychology to attract such women. And if you as a woman are not going for such a guy, then your the crazy one. 5. Women who go after such guys have collective thoughts that fit the narrative for their sexual desires and they go after whoever pays attention to them. Regardless if they have daddy issues or not, these women need to be taught BETTER. And often don't know any better until its either too late or they god forbid end up dead. 6. Some already have a general idea of what they assume is a psychopath. As the example is given above about a 'tall, dark and handsome/mysterious' man, they feel he can 'do no wrong'. They sadly lack the wisdom to know that despite their biases, psychopaths come in all shapes, forms, and sizes. From children to seniors, religious or not religious, spiritual or not. 7. Like another user have said, we women are healers for the most part, so we attract such people anyway. The problem is some are not smart enough to remain cautious and watch their surroundings. They immediately open their arms to any guy they desire. And psychopaths know the key to female desire and their heart. In fact their the best flirts, and its why I hate flirting! I always warn women, young girls and a few men about this tactic, and they look at me like I'm nuts. Then when something happens, all of a sudden their in awe in how did I know. Simple. I read patterns and sense things they don't know and see things they refuse to see.
Because psychopaths are all about manipulating and calculating. So they try and enhance their look to be as close to what women desire as possible. They put a lot of time and effort into this, they also spend a lot of time learning the right things to say like an obsession. So of course if someone is spending years of their life learning how to attract and lure in women.. they probably will succeed at attracting them right?
The women here are saying that it's mainly just the ones with issues that are attracted to psychopaths, i. e. the minority of women. What the findings of this study showed however was that psychopathic men were found to be attractive by the majority of women. Either the majority of women are crazy, or there's another explanation.
In other studies done on the dark triad traits (a combination of three traits: narcissism, machiavellianism, psychopathy) show similar results, with more women finding such men attractive.
Again these studies don't show a minority of crazy women finding these traits attractive, but that the majority of women in these studies find these traits attractive.
It's not that they're crazy, there's an evolutionary reason women are attracted to this. Even though we live in safe, modern society where violence is condemned, we still have the same primal attraction trigger that we had when we were cavemen. While our society has evolved and many people think that we have too - we haven't.
Therefore women have the same attraction triggers now, buried deep in their unconscious, instinctive hind brains, from a time when they needed a man who could hunt, fight off rival tribes and predators etc. The kind of man who'd be able to succeed back then in such a dangerous environment would have to be psychopathic. He'd have to be capable of violence. These traits, psychopathy especially, trigger the female need to feel protected.

We aren't, but when it's the only option there is. You don't have a lot of choice.

Because, when researchers investigated how heterosexual women and men differ in their sexual reactions with receptive strangers, examining sexual interest and the participants’ feelings on the possibility of long-term dating with their new “partners,” and how those connected to their perceptions of "responsiveness"- defined as a characteristic “that may signal to potential partners that one understands, values and supports important aspects of their self-concept and is willing to invest resources in the relationship”. In other words, 'responsiveness' in their research study, was effectively defined as being the polar opposite of psychopathy.
And the results found that only men deemed potential partners who were "responsive", to be desirable and attractive, and perceived this quality as a turn-on; men perceived responsive females to be “more feminine and more attractive.” However, the exact opposite was true in women, who, while they didn’t perceive responsive men to be any less masculine, still found males to be less sexually attractive, less desirable, the more responsive they were. And conversely, Even when they repeated the study, removing the elements of live social interaction (smiling, physical attractiveness) in order to isolate the impact which "responsiveness" had, they got the same results- men found responsive and attentive women to be more desirable as potential partners, while women found responsive and attentive men to be less desirable.
The third and final study sought to test specifically whether the mechanism by which “responsiveness” motivated individuals to pursue relationships was, in fact, sexual arousal; replicating the second study and adding a specific measure of sexual attraction. They found that, when men found women to be more responsive, it led to a heightened sexual arousal, which in turn led to greater desire for a relationship. And yet again, the opposite was true in the case of women- whenever women found men to be responsive, it led to a lessened sexual arousal among women, and less desire for a relationship. And conversely, the less responsive (i. e, more psychopathic) that a man was seen to be, the more that it heightened female sexual arousal, and increased their desire for a relationship with that man.
It's not so much that they're sexually attracted to psychopaths, though they clearly are; it's more to do with them being massively turned off, and sexually repulsed, by desperate fawning simps who put them on pedestals and kiss their feet. And the less like the stereotypical "liberal male feminist" that a man is, the more sexually attractive his character'll be to women (however hard they try to deny it).

I’m not sure how you can really control for attractiveness though when that in itself is so subjective! They need to duplicate it more times with different samples of men to say anything with any meaning really. But I don’t know, psychopaths scare me personally.
An interesting experience I had though was when I was watching a Hannibal movie with young girls 18-22. They thought there was something attractive about him, yet my other friend who was 29-30 at the time found him more repulsive than a normal person. I’d be interested to know what the age of the women were in the study?

I also forgot to mention that the two girls that found themselves attracted to him also had issues themselves... so... make of that what you will.
My working theory is that people are often attracted to the traits in others that are repressed in one's own psychology. Girls who still think they're blameless, harmless princesses in adulthood may gravitate to men who embody the Jungian "shadow". A woman who can look at her own dark side and make peace with it and integrate it in a healthy way... might just find she needn't seek it from her choices in men.

1. You will never get a straight answer from women about what attracts them. They either don't know, or they lie.
2. Psychopaths are the most competitive people in the world. Most psychopathic traits are exalted, but stated in other words. Convincing, never takes no for an answer, knows what he wants and doesn't let anything get in his way, dominant, alpha, very organised and has a plan for everything... all of these terms are synonymous with traits of a psychopath.
3. A woman is excited by mystery, and nobody hides their true selves as well as a psychopath. Sociopaths try, but they're too impulsive. Narcissists try, but can't shake off a challenge or insult (narcissistic injury). Psychopaths don't feel those emotions as strong, so they can laugh it off and act like your friend, all while their outmaneuvering you and planning your demise.
Psychopaths are attractive to women because they've always been successful and had the most resources.
Psychopaths are great at concealing their psychopathy & presenting themselves as good people.
As for the ones getting love letters in prison, that's just because there are indeed a minority of women with fetishes for murderers, but they're nowhere near a majority
btbc92 goes into it deeper and better than I will, read her comment, but basically, women love giving into totally unreal, unbelievable fantasies (well unbelievable by most men anyway) and the psychopath is amazing at telling people exactly what they want to hear to get what they want. Always blew my mind how this bold faced manipulation is so successful with women. They are actually so gullible, I never had the heart to take advantage of it, my cock fucking hates me.
They know how to manipulate- and chances are they are charming, and have been praying on similar personalities/ patterns of behavior. They look for victims sometimes that have a trait they feel like they could dominate and have power over.
Same reason men are, when they like the "crazy" chick. Because its different, exictes and its like the forbidden fruit. But also, there's levels to "crazy"
Because psychopaths aim to be charming and disarming. That is how they drown you in and get your guards down. So they are here to attract you into a trap.
